I was gonna put Carl Landry at PF, but that might make the victory too easy for the Rockets. With that team I predict a 75-65 win over the CNT.

This is the best idea I've ever heard. Can you imagine the ratings for this game? But China would probably want to include springboard, swimming, and "science fair" components.

 

I think a basketball game would be too physical given the stake, and if more people get injury in this game, it could be a diplomatic disaster.

how about at the beginning we have the two teams play family feud instead and the winners get Yao for that year? A great neutral place to hold the event would be midway between the two countries, around Antarctica.

 

maybe we could hope for a major international crisis that hangs on long enough to cancle the olympics but wraps up by Rockets Camp which allows Yao to get 7 months of rest!

I propose a five game event.

Event #1 Basketball trivia - Three players on each side match wits against one another in an Academic Team format on the details and history of the sport. (I nominate Shane, Chuck and Novak for this one)

Event #2 Twister - One on one, winner take all event of the game twister (I nominate Deke for this one those long limbs should give him an advantage)

Event #3 Dunk Competition - Three contestants from each team try to outwit out leap out play the opponent in a high flying event. Scoring will be judged like figure skating. (This one has Carl, Tmac and GG all over it)

Event #4 Limbo - Three contestants from each team are eligible... who can get under the smallest poll. (Rafer, Luther and Aaron have this covered!)

Finally the main event - #5 - Wrestling, one on one, points scored by pinning your opponent... best of five rounds. (Luis... this one is all you baby!)


The team that wins the most events wins Yao's services.

I am telling you the truth. If the match is played this evening in Germany, CNT wins. For sure.

Let me tell you the reasons. As we all know, NBA rules are different from the international rules. What rules are to be used depends on where the match is played. If it is played in the US, the NBA rules will be used and NBA refs will do their jobs. Since the proposal is to have the match on a German ground, the international rules will be used and no NBA refs.

How many Rockets are familiar with the international rules? Maybe only two: Scola and Novak. Two players do not make a team. So the other three players on court will dish out penalties one after another. That is why I said if the match takes place this evening in Germany, CNT wins. (according to a report this morning here on this board, CNT started their Olympic bball camp about three weeks ago)

So please do not take everything as granted.
