You might recognize some of these policies and adverse behaviors toward LGBT+ here in the US. China's Queer Purge: how the CCP targets queer people in China (crikey.com.au) China censorship: queer Chinese face draconian surveillance (crikey.com.au) In 2021, China’s Great Firewall, a term used for the CCP’s overarching online censorship that dates back to 1998, undertook a digital purge of LGBTQIA+ accounts on WeChat, China’s equivalent of Facebook. Facebook is banned in China, so WeChat, launched in 2011 and owned by Chinese tech giant Tencent, is the most popular form of social media. Unlike Telegram and Signal, messages aren’t encrypted on WeChat, and Tencent shares user data with the Chinese government. Overnight, 14 of the most prominent queer individuals and organisations were deleted for violating the “internet user public account information service management regulations”. Suspended for ‘spreading homosexual and cult content’ Users can report others to WeChat staff for sharing explicit content or unsociable behaviour, which can result in your account being suspended or banned. “I came out as a lesbian in a WeChat group,” Mo Hong says. A few days later her account was suspended for weeks. LGBTQIA+ censorship is CCP policy The CCP does not hide its ambition to censor LGBTQIA+ content and promote heterosexual gender norms. In 2020, the Ministry for Education publicly rolled out a plan to “prevent the feminisation of male adolescents” in China. The proposal lays out a four-step plan to “strengthen”, “educate” and “track” adolescents. One year later, the CCP banned “effeminate” or “sissy” men in the media. Broadcasters must “resolutely put an end to sissy men and other abnormal esthetics,” the National Radio and TV Administration said, using a slang term for effeminate men — “niang pao”, or literally, “girlie guns”, the Associated Press reported. There are detailed processes outlined by the Education Bureau on how to “prevent” and “punish” the spread of LGBTQIA+ content. For example, the “notice on special rectification of harmful publications for minors” issued by the Shawan District Education Bureau: After this investigation and rectification activity, our school has no harmful publications such as ‘Bible books’, ‘pseudo-national studies’ and religious infiltration picture books, ‘pocket book’ cartoons, game cards, illegal publications and pirated copies of LGBT (sexual minorities) themed children’s picture books and teaching materials for primary and secondary schools. The translation for “sexual minorities” may be interpreted as gender or sexuality traits that stray from heterosexual norms. Transgender people in China: crackdown causes despair, suicides (crikey.com.au) ‘They’re trying to kill us one by one’: CCP blocks hormone medication The Chinese government's 'crack down' on 'illegal transgender people' has led to a spate of suicides and widespread despair in the community. In December 2022, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) banned key ingredients necessary for HRT and forbid third-party sales. When used by transgender and non-binary people, HRT is referred to as gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT). Recipients are prescribed sex hormones by a doctor to help them feel comfortable in their body. Following the implementation of a series of policies banning HRT medications, there appears to have been a number of trans and non-binary suicides across China. ... Crackdown on ‘illegal trans’ in schools On top of the CCP’s ban on HRT medication, the government has cracked down on students who undertake HRT via a series of policies aimed at “destroy[ing] illegal transgenders”. The CCP uses the term “yaoniang” to refer to transgender people. It literally translates to “medicine girl” or “pill girl”. In 2022, at least two regional governments including Chifeng City and Alu Horqin City released policies with the exact wording stating they will carry out a “100-day special action to crack down” on illegal crimes involving “illegal transgender people”. “Through a series of strict actions, we will earnestly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of women and children,” the policy read. China's gay conversion camps: survivors tell of abuse, beatings (crikey.com.au) Inside China’s LGBTQIA+ re-education camps: survivors claim shock treatment and beatings Survivors shared grim stories of being kidnapped, beaten and abused at 'militarised camps' with connections to the Chinese Communist Party. Although the CCP removed homosexuality from its list of psychiatric illnesses in 2001, it hasn’t directly banned the use of so-called conversion therapy. Nikolaevna says she was sent to a re-education camp named Shandong Wangkang Education Training School (山东网康教育培训学校) in 2019 for “gender inconsistency”. “I was suspended from school, drugged and imprisoned in Wangkang, and spent more than two months there that I will never forget,” she tells Crikey. She experienced forced “sleep deprivation” and three rounds of “electrotherapy treatments”. “They treated us like animals,” she says. “After more than two months, I couldn’t bear it any more. I smashed a window, took some broken glass and tried to commit suicide.” Nikolaevna says “the only reason she didn’t die there” was because a relative convinced her parents to take her out. But upon her release, she was put under “house arrest” for several months. ... Survivors’ horror stories While most facilities don’t publicly state that identifying as LGBTQIA+ is a reason to send a child there, survivors tell Crikey the reality is otherwise. Qian Ning claims she was beaten before being forced to go to a facility named Nan Ying Vocation High School (南英). “When I came home for the new year, three people in police uniforms came into my house and said that I was suspected of network fraud and asked me to cooperate with an investigation,” she tells Crikey. “They knocked me down before I could speak, handcuffed me, forced me into their car and took me to the camp. I cried for help, but it was useless. My parents just stood aside. “[A senior staff member] asked me if I wanted to be a ‘fake mother’, like to wear women’s clothes, and still have long hair. He said it was ‘disgusting’. Then he explained to me that network fraud was not the reason why the Public Security Bureau arrested me.” Qian says she wanted to resist, but she was handcuffed: “He and several other people kicked me hard on the ground, and held me down. They said ‘if I was dishonest, I would be beaten’. Then they shaved my hair so I was bald, took off my shoes, socks and underwear.” ... Parents ‘wanted her to die’ Dana Aylmer tells Crikey that when her parents found out that she was transgender, they “wanted her to die” so that she wouldn’t be a “bad example” for her younger siblings. “My father found my address and brought a group of people disguised as home repair workers to my home,” she says. “They broke down my door.” Dana hid in a storage room, a memory she “vividly” remembers as the most frightening of her life. “After they looked around, they thought I wasn’t home,” she says. “I went to the underground bicycle garage in my rented house. It connects to the entire neighbourhood — I believe they didn’t know that. I saw that they were still at the door of my apartment waiting for me to come home, so I left through the underground garage and left behind many things.” One of those items was Dana’s former boyfriend’s jade pendant. “He said it’s part of him, he wore it since he was a little child,” she says. Now Dana lives in solitude in a rural part of China where she fears for her life and has no communication with her family. ...
Several policies against the LGBT+ community that have been implemented by the CCP are already present in some conservative states in the US. In particular, censorship of LGBT+ content and banning of LGBT+ treatments. When your policies align well with the CCP, you are in good company.
Part of this a consequence of their one child policy where these kids tie the hopes of two generations. There is no spare and thus the line ends there. There's also a lot of Han supremacist bs being touted, which is ironic given their roughshod "whitewashing" during the cultural revolution. Contrast this with Taiwan which has been working more towards progressive values despite similar cultural rigidness in its past (with similar cultural repression of indigenous Taiwanese) and it's night and day.
Protecting children from child abuse is different from persecuting adults who should have the freedom to do what they'd like so long as they don't hurt others. Blurring the lines is a favorite game of the far left commies... not shocked CFs.net is equating common sense protections for kids with Chinese authoritarianism.
Spare me. The GOP has no interest in "protecting the children from abuse" or they would be passing sensible gun control legislation to protect kids from school shootings and banning the grooming of kids under the age of 18 by passing laws against forced religious indoctrination. How many kids have been abused by trusted religious leaders? Countless How many kids have died in school shootings? Too ****ing many How many kids have been abused at Pride Events or Drag Shows?
That's how the CCP explains their abhorrent policies towards the LGBT+ community: by claiming to protect children from harm and prevent the spread of LGBT+ identities to children. It's awesome to be in such company, don't you think?
CCP is pure evil. Where are the protests from the Left against this? Instead, they focus all their hate on DeSantis.
Making it even tougher for a population that is already facing huge challenges from society and has a high suicidal rate will undoubtedly contribute to more suicidal tendencies and mental illness among LGBT+ children. CCP and GOP policies against LGBT+ not only fail to protect children but actually harm them.
What about Saudi Arabia and the Middle East? Wokesters won't come after them cause they can't handle the Jihad. Canceling drag shows for kids vs canceling the drag show participants are totally different things You can go to Miami and catch a drag show on South Beach no problem @Sweet Lou 4 2
@AroundTheWorld @Xerobull Smart business people know about this. I've actually attended a party they threw for our company pre-pandemic. I can confirm, they HAVE LOTS OF MONEY. @basso

They know that. Do you really think they care? It's gay bashing reborn, in the party of division and hate. It's "Get back in the closet" or we'll find ways to arrest you.
