With endorsements that is. And i mean 30+ million per year in endorsements. Why not? China is a powerhouse now, they can afford it. Seriously. If they want to reward yao for all his hard work in China, that's where to start. It'll maintain great relationship with houston and keep yao happy.

    Starters:
    Brooks
Battier (trade Ariza somehow. I'd rather have Battier to complement our team)
    LeBron
    Scola
    Yao

    Bench:
    Lowry
    Budinger
    Hill
    Andersen

    Oops, I forgot Martin.
    Starters
    Brooks
Martin (Battier would be 6th man)
    LeBron
    Scola
    Yao

That would be one scary starting lineup. One of the best scoring backcourts (AB/Martin) with a dominant center, the ice-cream man, and a superstar swingman.

Hell yea. I mean, really. If China wants to make 300+ million basketball fans in china start a joyous frenzy and kiss the government's feet, they'll do this.

LOL if you're a chinese company why would you pay LBJ money just to play with the Rockets? The rockets aren't chinese, its an American company that Yao Ming happens to play in, and would continue to be an American company when Yao Ming retires. I'd rather pay LBJ 50 milion dollars to play in the CBA.

Are there any Chinese businessmen who are minority owners of the Rockets? Because there is one for the Cavs.

If Nike double Lebron's contract for playing in Houston, it would be awesome They sent him over to China for a promotional tour, I believe. Look at this photo of him in China.

Lebron will never do it, because of Yao's injury problems though.

I'll probably get crucifed for this, but I wouldnt want him here. I couldnt root for him.

I hope he never wins anything. I hate his antics, I hate his entitlement ego. Id much rather have more likeable guys like Bosh or Wade.

Easy, cause he gets to play along side yao, the most popular figure(not just in sports) in China.

    That's what you would think.

However, when scrubs like Chuck Hayes and Mr. Intangible get chinese shoe deals, you know that they wouldn't have those deals with any other team.

It's the fastest growing consumer market in the world. Instead of focusing on only the western market, he would have the east also. His endorsements would surpass Tiger Woods.

Battier is getting old dude. Once he loses his lateral quickness, he's done.

I agree, but I just like Battier better than Ariza . Assuming we get LeBron, I want Battier to get a chance to play for a championship.

Ariza definetely has a brighter future though, and if Morey picks one or the other, he'll probably go with keeping Ariza.

I might equally get crucified for saying this, being that Lebron seems a little polarizing. I think he's handled himself as well as an athlete could at his status. He does dance too much, trying to make himself like the NBA Usher or something. Though whats he supposed to be, a quiet Joe Johnson? I think Wade gets a free pass in the ego category. He's as arrogant as anyone in the game. Lebron has some image flaws, but I think he has a SUSTAINABLE public persona. Meaning not some Tiger Woods front looking solemn, focused and "driven", though he's just dirty underneath.

A championship has done a lot for Kobe Bryant acceptance, hasnt it. I'd take Lebron before I'd take 3 Kobe Bryants.

The Cavs have a Chinese businessman as a minority owner so Lebron won't leave them for us . Lebron will probably get a working endorsement from China by this offseason.
