Crazy, it read like they weren't going to rest him if he hadn't gotten injured.

Well... At least this gives the Yao a full off season's rest, for the first time in his NBA career...

Are you talking about Team China? He's pretty much a slave in terms of playing basketball over there. Luckily, he gets a break now. That article does seem scary, because it seems like if Yao had stayed healthy all season long he would play in these pointless games even more.

    When will it end?

China will be better off just playing Yao in the WC and the Olympics. They are good enough to win the Asian Men's Championships without him. They need to develop younger players.

When Yao steps up and tells them no. I blame China for demanding him play even though it hurts him in the long run. However, Yao isn't without blame. He is his own man and if he doesn't think it is good to play then he should say no. American players have done it and been criticized for it but its ultimately up to the player.

Well.. hopefully this will help Yao in the long run, and hopefully he can have a FULL season (including playoffs) next season... Good decision by China.

No! i refuse to believe that Yao would put his country before the Rox. Although Yao has publicly announced it mutiple times and has it proven by actions in the past 7 years, i still refuse to believe so and i will keep refusing it! not even in the day that my son starts to work for a chinese company. So i blame the evil communists who force Yao to play!

    Rest well, big guy.

BTW, thx for the good laugh
