I think I saw a real child predator today at the gym. There was this 12 or 13 year old girl doing crunches on the crunch machine. I was 20 feet behind her on the elliptical. This 40-45 year old man came up to her while she was laying down and was talking to her. At first I thought no big deal, maybe a dad, neighbor, family friend. But he kept getting awkwardly close. It got the point where he was practically looking down on her while she was on the crunch machine. This went on for about 5-7 minutes. Then her friend showed up and she kind of talked to him for a second and then he walked away. He got onto a machine about 10 feet away. Then the 2 girls started talking and the man kept looking at them. I mean he literally made 10-15 glances at them in the first minute he sat in the leg curl machine. Then he kept looking back for the next five minutes. Man I know that is not how a family friend or relative would act. That crap grosses me out. It was not even like this girl was some hot teenager. She was a young, young girl. Like 6th or 7th grade.
Aren't 12/13 year olds supposed to be running around outside? Why are they at a gym? PS. That dude is gross, you should have walked over and asked if you could help him out and made him feel uncomfortable enough to leave...or at least told someone who worked there.
There isn't much he could do. It's the parents responsibility to watch their kids. The guy was creepy, but the guy didn't do anything "wrong." What good is reporting it? Would the gym have asked the guy to leave? I doubt it unless he broke a gym rule. He has as much right to be there as BigSherv and the girl.
Yeah my friends told me to tell management exactly what i told them. I thought since the girl didn't look all weirded out she may have known him. But I decided tomorrow I will say something.
Why wait until tomorrow...call them and let them know and id the guy tomorrow... At my gym, you have to be 16...
Before you say anything to management or whatever, you might want to consider the consequences for this man if you're wrong. Yeah, child predators = evil and so on and so forth (pump up the ratings!), but there's no need to start the witch hunt before you get a good set of squats in.
Yea this sounds like a bad situation but it will be worse if this guy gets branded . . and he is not what you think So tread softly . . If the girl was no weirded out. . . . maybe she knows him. this require more investigation/knowledge before branding this guy a pedophile Rocket River
