A local supermarket was having a great deal on raw chicken breast tenders several weeks ago and I grabbed about 20 pounds worth of the things. I defrosted some today in plans on cooking with them tonight. The only problem is I rarely do anything with them besides fry them or make Shake 'n Bake nuggets. I want to do something different though and am looking for ideas. I know a lot of you are gourmets or appear to be so over the Internet so I am turning to you for ideas. What can I do?
Separately marinate in whatever you want (Stubbs, Wishbone Italian, Worchestershire w/ Vinegar), then fix it with noodles, maybe some broccoli on the side!!!!
http://www.cooks.com/rec/search?q=chicken+tenders Stir fry's, grilled on a stick, chicken salad, etc. Tons of things you can do with them.
What can't you do with them? You can bake them, you can grill them, you can grill them with some cajun spices, you can lather them with buffalo sauce... I mean the options are endless really.
Yes, do this! Try some Lemon Pepper Marinade. Add some vegetables (broccoli, bell peppers, tomatoes, etc) and some noodles. Great stuff.
Dip them in eggs and parmesan cheese, then throw them in some cooking oil in the frying pan. Pour some tomato sauce on top and presto…parmesan chicken. If you don't want to fry them, do everything listed above but put them in the oven at 350 for about 15 minutes instead.
Frying is bad.. You can get crispy chicken tenders by baking them. Just dip them in a egg then dip in a bowl of bread crumbs (whole wheat bread crumbs mixed with panko bread crumbs). You can spice them up by using herbs and spices. Bake them at 400. Volia!
For a quick and easy meal, I often grill them and throw some Stubbs Wing Sauce on them. It's a healthier alternative to wings.
after baking or whatever, wrap in tortilla with lettuce or spinach, cheese, a little salad dressing of your choice.. quick wrap to go
I like to soak them in Italian dressing, pour the dressing and the chicken in a pan bake them until they are almost done. Then pull the chicken out add some cooked rice put the chicken on top and bake until they are completely done. the rice soaks in the dressing giving it a pretty good flavor. Serve with some steamed veggies, and you're set.
That's what she said. You FAIL, sir. It's actually "you're" not "your". Unless you're talking about possessing a set. Perhaps a TV set, sir??? WHY would you put a TV set in your rice?? unless is was mexican rice
i'm not gourmet chef, just a college student, but i use them just like i do breast. often i make fajitas with them, i don't have a grill, so i have to pan fry them, stir fry is always good...ya i guess i'm not much help in the area of fine dining : /
Baked Orange Chicken... yum. One of those not too fancy, but pretty quick dinners... Ingredients (serves me for a meal or two): 1 lb chicken breast strips 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs 1 tsp salt 1 tsp ground pepper 1 tsp paprika 1 orange (for its peel) and a citrus peeler 1/2 cup OJ 1 egg 1 tsp olive oil (to lightly coat a cookie sheet) How to do it: Preheat oven to 375. Take bread crumbs, salt, pepper, & paprika and mix thoroughly in a bowl. Peel about 1 Tbsp of orange peel in short, thin strips using the citrus peeler and mix in with the bread crumb mixture. In another bowl, pour the OJ and break the egg. Mix well with a fork. Prepare a cookie sheet (lightly coat) with the olive oil. PAM works as well in place of olive oil. Dip each chicken breast strip first in the egg/OJ mixture, then coat well in bread crumb mixture, then arrange on cookie sheet. Bake approximately 30-35 minutes turning them once about 1/2-way through. Serve with mashed potatoes or mac & cheese... and maybe some green beans or something.
Quick aside. This thread reminded me of BW3's grilled chicken tenders. Those things are damn good. You should go buy 1 or 2 of your favorite sauces from there, grill those tenders up, and try them that way.
