Wife and I saw this over the weekend, walked away really impressed. Story is well worn but the performances are all fantastic.

Cooper really brought out the best from his cast. I actually think it's one of Cooper's best overall performances of his career thus far.

Small complaint is that it could have been trimmed just a tad near the end.

    A-

I don't believe so unless it's something obscure I'm not aware of. I agree, I think think he'd be a great fit. Hell include Sam Elliott for good measure......

All westerns need Sam Elliot, since Ben Johnson and Lee Van Cleef are dead.

Fantastic movie and if you don't admit it you're just a hater.

I had the opposite thought. I wanted the movie to keep going.

Just watched it with the wife. Seems like the reviews for Venom are pretty bad, so figured might as well make her happy. Overall I enjoyed the movie, felt the first half was much better than the second half, especially the music. Was definitely in agreement with Bradley Cooper's character :p

I also felt the second half dragged quite a bit and could have done with some editing. Hadn't seen the previous versions, but just felt like I was waiting for the inevitable conclusion the whole time.

This is tough. I'm a huge Cooper fan, and like gaga too, but I generally hate singing movies... maybe ill wait for the tomatometer score to stabilize, if it stays in the 90's watch it anyway.

Just to stray a little from the subject, Venom should be one of those that is enjoyable, but critics dislike it for what it is. Esp. on RT.

And? What are you whining about?

Saw it with the lady tonight. Amazing good fun.

178% better than the Barbra Streisand (everything is better without Barbra Streisand) one, not even Kris Kristofferson could save that one.

It was a nuanced reaction, I get it.

But I’m not going to quote an annoying post about chick fil a to get my point across that it is annoying..

And now I’m posting about Chick-fil-A in the Star is Born thread

There's a large swath of gay men that like to pretend that version doesn't exist.

Saw it last night, I enjoyed it, I actually wanted more music scenes in the movie, it was nice to watch those scenes in the Dolby Cinema screening, especially the opening. Took me till the end of the movie to figure out that it was Andrew Dice Clay was the Gaga's father, he looks totally different since I last saw him 6+ years ago on Entourage. Fantastic performances all around, even Chappelle was awesome in the small role he was in, he definitely needs to do roles like that.

Saw this tonight with the wifey. Great movie. Gaga is crazy talented and Cooper’s performance is Oscar worthy.

The subtle Easter eggs throughout the movie are pretty cleaver as well. Powerful ending.
