A friend of mine in Chicago said that the Bulls are trying to work out a deal with Houston to free up their 1st round picks. I don't see anyway the Bulls can get out of this one. He also said that Houston would trade back the conditional pick(s) in exchange for Marcus Fizer. Can you believe this? He said it would probably be Thomas plus our first rounder plus the condition for Fizer and the Bulls 2nd round pick and thus Chicago is able to trade their #1 pick for this year to Vancouver for Reef. And my friend also said that Houston trying to get it down to conditional pick(s) and Thomas for Fizer so we could keep our 1st rounder. That's why a trade hasn't already happened because the Rockets are posturing with Krause. When you think about it it makes sense because they need to make room for Reef in the front court and plus the add depth with Thomas.

Clutch or Jeff. Is this true?

This sounds like pretty good news. Marcus Fizer will finally get to play his real position. MO WILL BE BENCHED!! I would be happier if it was Rookie of the year Kenyon Martin. [IMG]

Mo, a guy who's been giving double digit points and rebounds lately, would be benched for a rookie PF shooting 35% from the field? Get real.

    7.1 ppg, 4.1 reb, 36% shooting

Bear in mind he's been asked to play a lot of SF though, which is not his natural spot. Still, if talk of him coming were legit, you'd have to be an absolute moron to start him over Mo right now.

I would only do this if Fizer could get moved elsewhere for a high pick in next year's draft or as part of another deal because he and Mo would have to coexist....
    It makes sense for Chicago.
Can Fizer actually provide what KT cannot?

As I said, the Rockets are negotiating right now because Krause is asking for way too much. I would definitely trade Thomas for Fizer straight up but Krause is too unreasonable. Let's not forget that Vancouver is probably going to be involved in a trade because of Reef. So it could actually be more than just Fizer. Any rumor right now is just that, a rumor. I wish I had more to go by but my friend just said that the Bulls want to trade Fizer for the conditional pick(s) and our first but Houston will not give up their 1st rounder.

Most of us on this BBS thought Fizer was overrated. He's definitely a tweener.

I wouldnt do that either. Thats way too much for Fizer. With our #2-5 pick we will get , I wouldnt do it.

I agree totally. I think maybe I would do Fizer for Houston's #1, but not what Krause wants. I think a 3-way trade with Van and Chi is more reasonable. Plus, with all the rumors Clutch started it seems like a deal with Van could happen one way or another. I just wish the Rockets would do something to shakeup the team. Houston should not be 16-17 with the talent Rudy has. The thing hurting us the most is rebounding so please make a deal for a good rebounder.

Will Chicago actually try to deal for Shareef? The Bulls need a 1 and a 5. I thought Bibby was their goal. They would have to offload some salary to get SAR, anyway. I suppose Artest and Crawford, but I don't know.
Maybe this is all a smaller part of a bigger deal. I can understand Krause quibbling over the #1 pick. No need to rush a deal. Everyone wants to win in a deal. I sure hope this is a 3-way, though. Must be. Has to be.
Oh, well. Good night all and I'll avidly read everyone's posts tomorrow in this thread and the two hundred-some-odd post thread, all the while listening for footsteps behind me as I play Dilbert. So post well!

Chicago's pick will never be #17 or better.

Getting Fizer for KT would be a steal.

I love KT, but Fizer is a legitimate 6'9" and plays with a nasty attitude.

I would love to have Fizer on the Rockets...

That makes two of us, but at the right price.

DaDakota, nevermind what he's listed at, would u bet any amount of money on Fizer being 6'9? Mo is listed as 6'9....I'm not trying to be a smart allick or anything, just pointing it out....NO OFFENSE...

But why would we want Fizer?
Chicago need their pick to get Bibby (not SAR), we want Sar, Van want Hakeem.....Cap experts?

    Hakeem to Van
Bibby + the pick they owe us to Chi
    Sar to Houston

that's the BASIC trade, what else would be needed?

Krause can't play hard ball with us on this deal, unless we have a bigger deal working that he knows about. Otherwise, we've got him by the short hairs & there is nothing he can do about it. hahahahahaha

Maybe we should play hard ball with him. We'll send KT & the pick that they owe us for Brand. How do you like them apples Krause? [IMG]

Fizer is a legitimate 6'6 and anything more than that is a bonus.

Oh that's right, he's a bad rebounder who hasn't shown any real sign that he'll be as good an NBA player then Kenny Thomas.

Let's not forget that the draft was pathetic last year (Marc Jackson looks like begin ROY and he wasn't drafted.....) and that there's a lot of talent to come out this year.

With our own pick (currently lottery) we should be able to get a better player than Fizer - why would we trade the Bulls pick back to them to get a player who we don't even need?

Fizer measured out at 6'9" in sneakers at the NBA pre-draft camps.

I think Fizer is being misused, and I do think he will be better then KT, and I like KT a lot.

In fact, I think Fizer will probably be better then Mo Tay, as well.

But what do I know, I am just a fan.
