Screw this year. Tank for Chet!! Also, it's funny how 2 years ago this guy would've been a completely new archetype of player but just this year we got a perfect comp for Chet in Aleksej Pokusevski. He's not as skilled or athletic as Chet but you can already see glimpses of what that kind of player can do.

I don't feel like douchey is the word at all. Goofy? Sure. Nerdy? Absolutely. Geeky? Without a doubt. Douchey? That's more this guy:

I get that the nba game has evolved over time to where speed and length are more important than strength and power but what nba 3-5 won't be able to abuse this kid down low for the next decade? Hopefully he puts on 20 lbs in the next year. People are already killing Wood and Mobley for their profiles and this kid is even skinnier.
He reminds me of Dunleavy Jr except Jr weighed 225 or so.

As I recall it, they said the exact same thing about Kevin Durant.

Yeah, he is 7 foot tall and less than 200 lbs. I'm no expert but I know that Durant was 6-10 and 220 after 1 year at texas, I've already mentioned Dunleavy who was 3 inches shorter but 30 lbs heavier. Even tayshaun prince had 20 lbs on this kid coming into the nba. I wish him well but I don't think it's outlandish to question how his frame can withstand the physicality of the nba.

Well, I guess it's a good thing for him he's not going to the NBA yet.

Not everybody is NBA-ready at 18+, and there seems to be a lot of thinking (the "fetishization of youth") that 21+ is somehow "old" for a young player to grow into his body and grow as a player.

Better be hitting the gym and protein shakes. Zion would squash him.

I'm not hating on the kid. He looks very impressive in the clips I've seen. And I don't think I'm in any way fetishizing him. I think its pretty much assumed he will be one and done and I am just asking whether his frame makes him unguardable in the NBA or unplayable. That's it. In my original comment I said that I hope he packs on weight. At his current size he makes nba toothpicks look thicc. As I said before, I don't think pointing out a physical aspect of a prospect is controversial.

Sorry, I wasn't talking about you but more in generalities. And I get it, "can a guy this short/fat/tall/skinny/whatever succeed?" is a legit question.

No big deal. I can see how my initial comment could be taken as overly critical. I bet we can agree that, regardless of shape or size, the Rockets need to taking hard looks at anybody with talent.

No worries at all, lots of my comments come across as overly jackassical.

Aleksej Pokusevski with way less playmaking.
