Click on link to bring up Real One Player...

Note: Chet Coppock is a beat reporter from Sportingnews based in Chicago.
He's a known Yao-basher. From all the interviews I've heard he seems
to be a New York Knick fan, even though he's based in Chicago.

He made all attempts to discredit Yao and suggested that we trade him
to the Knicks for Marcus Camby (before the draft). He even said that
    Yao is a bust!

Now, the link below is after the last nights game. Notice how Chet's
opinion has changed (if you've been following his past shows).

I had forgotten that I had registred.

Plus, no one like to register on web sites. It's like doing taxes or something.

I recognize that voice - he is the jerk who kept repeated that "four years from now Yao Ming will be seen as the biggest mistake in NBA history."

His opinion doesn't seem to have completely changed his opinions, though. He still doesn't fully sound sold...just now he is not complete trash.

    Oh well.

If he's the Knick fan that DavidS says he is, it's no wonder that he can't see the real mistake right under his nose.

"With the 14th pick in the 1999 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks select...Frederic Weis, a center from France."

Yup. Coppock acknowledging that Yao is NOT a bust is like pulling teeth for him. What a stubborn mule's behind. Sheez, give it up already dude.

How could he afford to sound fully sold after he has bashed Ming like that before? He's not stubborn. He just didn't want to sound like an idiot.

Well, before the Rox won the lottery, NY had a chance to get the top pick.

After the Rockets got the 1st pick, Chet Coppock did his best to discredit Yao
in hopes that we wouldn't pick him.

    Now, I'm only speculating here...since I don't know where he's
originally from. At first (back when the Rockets won the draft),
I thought that Chet Coppock was a Bulls fan (Since he was broadcasting
from there). Then, I started picking things up from his interviews, here
and there. After about a month of listening to his interviews I put it all
    together...Knick fan.

I can't blame him for being pissed. I mean, it was Hakeem that spoiled
any chance of Patrick Ewing from winning the championship.

Now, we get another center in Yao that can help us back to the championship!
    Another chance missed for NY.

If he didn't want to sound like an idiot, then he shouldn't have made the IDIOTic statements he made in the first place when he interviewed Rick Barry.
CoppOCK is just bitter...(and getting more annoying by the minute)

Great interview. It looks like people are starting to come around to the idea that Yao is going to be worth the hype.

BTW...did anybody else notice that PJ said that Yao has "a nice butt?" :p
