When he's not false starting, he's pretty solid on both run and pass blocking.

I like the way Texans reward their players. Buchanon should be next.

He's played every snap, right? That's impressive.

Total ignorance speaking here...but is he worth that kind of money? Is he in the same class as Benji Olsen or Larry Allen?

I'm sick of his penalties so why not re-sign him?

This makes no sense. I hope Pitts does better this year.

This sucks. Chester Pitts is horrible. The guys has more penalties called on him then probably anyone in the league...mostly false starts. And he gets a 5 year extension? What is Casserly thinking?
So he's played every down? Big deal...he hasn't been injured is why and they can't find anyone better than him I guess.
I've never been impressed with Pitts!

Ihope Buchanon plays well enough to get an extension. I have a bad feeling he wont though. In fact I bet by game 6 he will be the whipping boy of this bbs. Hope im wrong.

It only takes one bad game to be the whipping boy of this BBS.

We have a terrible offensive line, yet we've signed 4 out of 5 of them to big contracts. Why? It seems if you are making your quarterback perform 3 step drops because he doesn't have enough time to throw, that you would look to make changes in the offensive line, rather than reward them with extensions.

This is a Kelvin Cato / Maurice Taylor like contract. I don't get it.

Pitts is now one of the "elite" paid guards in the league? I can't say I agree with that. When the Rockets were struggling in the late 90s early 00s it seemed like they were overpaying for mediocre tallent. It looks like the Texans are doing the same.

Pitts has been arguably their best lineman. But that isn't saying much.

Yes, he is penalty prone, but the guy is a solid run and pass blocker. He's improved a lot since he's entered the league, and he's still only 26.

Isn't that the reason Hollings is still on the team?
