Dick Cheney recently said he'd be happy to run again as vice president and that, regardless of his four heart attacks, he wasn't worried about his health.

Does this worry anyone else? After all, Bush is a heartbeat from the presidency.

    Couldn't help myself. Flame away...

I thought they promised Katherine Harris that job, since she delivered the presidency!

No HP, she's running for Congress on Ollie North's old strategy.

You know, the one that posits that cheating, lying or breaking laws, in service of the "right" party, is patriotic. Hope it works out as well for her as it did for Oliver.

I just saw on CNN's Crossfire that Cheney's old company when he was in charge was continuing to do business with Iraq, through subsidiaries up until a couple of years ago.

No wonder he has a bad heart. Greed and dealing with those kinds of oppressive dictators must eat away at someone. I would rather have G.W. Bush as president any day than someone who knowingly does business with Iraq.

Here's some more news about Haliburton under Cheney.

Under Cheney's tenure as CEO of Haliburton the company went from 9 off shor tax subsidiaries to 45. They went from paying taxes to the govt. to getting tax refunds from the govt.

I hate it when people don't pay their fare share.

In addition Haliburton under Cheney was fined 2 million dollars for over charging the pentagon. Cheney was ripping off our own govt.

His subsidiaries also had regular business dealings with Lybia.

I can see that Cheney has always been a serious one when it comes to being tough on terrorists... unless he can make a buck on it.

    This is truly amazing.

I think that this thread is a glimmering example of the negative, mean spirited politics that the Democrats have become famous for.

    And in turn...flame away.

Both parties are equally famous for it.

That's why we need a third party, or hopefully more.

There aren't enough choices in politics for most of the people in this country.

Have we already forgotten the 8 years of the Clinton administration, where any revelatation like this would have resulted in a massive independent counsel investigation? Where a suicide was called *murder* by some Republicans just because?

Both parties do this. It's just the way Washington is today.

I agree that both parties are famous for it, and that hopefully this year third partieswon't be excluded from the debates and really the process in general. We used to laugh about the Soviets who basically only allowed one party on the ballot. Now third parties are don't get the same chances as the two biggies.

Back to Cheney, I think pointing out that a guy traded with Iraq and Libya, as well was fined for over-charging our own govt. goes beyond searching for any meaningless thing to bring down upon the guy.

I mean the guy made a business practice of dealing govts. that sponsor terrorism. That's a great way to restore dignity to the white house:rolleyes:

I just found out that Iran is another of the nations that Cheney did business with while CEO of Haliburton.

Man, I guess this guy doesn't really care about what nations support terrorism.

Just letting you know someone's listening.

    BBS Republicans:

These aren't allegations FB's posting. They're facts. Dare to respond to even unfavorable info about your party. Like, at least say you hope it's not true and that you're troubled if it is.

My initial post here was jokey and I don't blame you for ignoring it, but FB's bringing some stuff up that should really bother you. I'd like to hear what you think of it.
