Cheer up guys, At least we didnt lose to the Bobcats like projected champs the New Orleans Hornets http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore?gid=2008110730 Rockets all the way.
Not yet but the gap may be closing. It's too early in the season to draw conclusions but I think the West will ultimately be just about as good as last season. I think the East is just getting better.
The West are getting their behinds handed to them tonight. Suns and Spurs (Parker just got injured) are being manhandled right now.
Like you said, Spurs w/out Parker and Ginobili. The Suns are without Shaq and Barbosa hasn't hit his stride yet this season off the bench. The Bulls and Heat have had their azzez handed to them too and will get that treatment again by both WC and EC teams. You can't over analyze one night of basketball. In the big picture, I think the WC is still much stronger but the EC has improved.
The Clippers may not be very good but they didn't have Camby the first couple of games and BD missed part of a game they were winning big before he got hurt. It takes time when you have a new PG. Let's see how the Rockets handle them tonight before we start talking trash about them. They have two 7'ers down low and a very good PG when healthy. They also have a decent set of complimentary players in Thornton, R. Davis, Mobley, T. Thomas and possibly even E. Gordon. Their backup PG, Taylor, has looked pretty good so far, too.
What's worse? (3-2) Hornets, losing games to Atlanta and Charlotte or (3-2) Rockets, losing games to Boston and Portalnd
3-2 Rockets is worse cuz we are better than the Hornets. They did lose to lesser competition though. The Hornets fall to pieces if you shut down Paul. I'm not saying we can do that, but he is the entire engine of that team. We have more depth.
Chris Paul didn't get shut down in either game Atlanta: 22/5/11/3 Charlotte: 20/3/10/6 Yes, we are better than the Hornets, but we're still playing against heavy competition to start the season. Still no excuse we shouldn't have won those two games, but at least its not embarrassing.
You didn't get my point. I'm saying that, in general, CP3 is the only engine of that team. If he gets injured or gets shut down, they lose. We have more depth. BTW, he did get shut down in the 1st half against the Bobcats. Still, that wasn't my point.
