Well, now that Texas is raising up the taxes on cigs an extra $1 per pack on Jan. 1, I've decided to purchase them online from now on. Has anyone else done this? It seems you can get cartons for $18 bucks, with 3-6 bucks for shipping. So even at $24/carton, that's still $2.40/pack. Compared to $4.50-5 bucks if I buy them here. Sorry Texas. You're not going to get these taxes from me. You got greedy.
This isn't a debate topic. If you don't smoke, don't bother posting. Start your own thread in D&D if you feel the need to vomit your better than thou attitude.
About 4 years ago I went on the net looking for cheaper cigarettes. I found I can buy loose tobacco (in a bag) and tubes (paper & filter) for under $12 a carton plus $3 for shipping. There was the initial expense of a cheap cigarette maker about $4 and change. Now I just go to a local cigarette shop and get tobacco and tubes for $10.27. RR
I heard it covers cigarettes and cigars, but not snuff. Anyone else find that weird? PS...I haven't had one since 11/22, and that's the longest I've gone without a cig since I was 15. I feel great. My secret is I never use the word "quit". I stopped smoking. My other secret is peppermints when I get a craving.
Wow, I quit smoking around 3 months ago because they were an expense I wanted to cut out... But when I compare the price to you guys I feel really stupid... It's $1.9 for a pack of Marlboro reds here. I know that when I travel I can only take a certain amount, usually two boxes. If you order online, do you have a limit as well?
you'll be buying them in the stores, just a matter of time. At least you can feel good knowing you are supporting Education I stopped July 4th weekend, and this is another incentive not to take another puff. I feel for you smokers, you have no rights, pretty soon it will be legal to spit on you
Yeah, I love the place next to my house. I have noticed that those were dwindling, though. I wonder if they'll restock after they run out. Glad I received five "buy one get one free" coupons in the mail from Camel.
umm, watch out. you never heard of states suing for back taxes? NYC, Michigan and Illinois have sued online store patrons. The feds require online stores to give up info regarding sales across state lines. here's some of many articles about it. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-03-07-cigarette-taxes_x.htm and another http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4196/is_20060527/ai_n16436300
