Battier's getting a lot of attention after that NYT Magazine article on him. I hope someone asks him about it. The fans need to let him know that even though none of his NBA peers like him, we still do.
Go and ask! I know the last time my questions got submitted. If you don't, I will! It's made news all over the internetsphere. Even the UK fans were talking about it on their blogs and forums... I am very disappointed that Rick's ego is the reason I didn't get to enjoy cheering for Shane as a Wildcat...instead of being forced to actually like a Duke player.
Good to see Battier is being more agressive in looking for his shot. He seems to be benefitting from the increased ball movement. We are definitely going to need him to knock down that 3 in the corner to keep the defense honest.
Shane did a great job. Very diplomatic answers, his Duke education wasn't wasted. At one point he did get a little distracted when he discovered he could put emoticons on his answers, he must be related to Swoly-D
Shane Battier: I really only watch the Office and sometimes Bus of Love starring Bret Michaels. Other than that I really don't watch television. Rock of Love? ahahaha
Battier is as impressive an interview as any athlete I have ever seen. He has quite a career ahead of him after he retires, no matter what career he chooses.
i'm gonna have to go through all the Battier bashing threads to see what posters are flip flopping................where's all the battier haters of 2 weeks ago???
Several very interesting comments from Shane! As a member of the team the recent trade has been a breath of fresh air for them too. I'm not sure what Lowry has added, but it seems the subtraction of Alston (replacing him with AB) gives the team a new identity for sure! This was in regards to McGrady's surgery... not much one way or the other in terms of him not being here. Great to see the team moving totally moving forward with what they got. Regarding his left hook as a go-to shot. Not sure if I would take too many offensive skill lessons from Shane, but it is cool to see that he basically added that to his game after coming into the league by virtue of massive repetition. Something to be learned from that ... Comment on Lowry's effort... good news there... Repetition ... he IS good at hitting that corner 3... Hearing about RA's offensive scheme here... don't need to be a genius to figure it out, just gotta MOVE! This suggests that Alston / McGrady's absence may now contribute more to adapting to the offense.. Good stuff! Also he had one comment about having a healthy McGrady that relates to another thread here but I won't bother posting that
LOL, I asked the same question, but it didn't make it thru either. I also asked if he visited clutchfans.net, but no go on that one too.
