Today in chat Heath and I had some trouble. We had anice chat going with several members of the sim league(as is the norm in the afternoon) At one point Cat left saying he had to go. A few minutes later he came back. A couple of new GM's were there and were asking questions. "The Cat" was giving bogus info and didn't really make sense. When I asked a question about putting players on IR he didn't even know what IR was... Heath and I decided the best way to fix the problem was to register our chat nicks with the IRC server where the chat room is located. We figured it would probably be a good idea for most of youto do this also(if you have not already done so). To do it go to the link I will post at the bottom of this message and click register nick. Follow the instructions on the website using the nick you want to have for yourself(note: you cannot be signed on to the chat while doing this). Once you have registered it no one but youwill be able touse it. It is password protected. Anyone that tries to use it will: A)have to enter a passord or B)have their name changed to Guest... if they don't know the password. If you access chat thru the website a popup window willcome up asking for your password. If you use MIRC it will ask you on the Status page and give instructions on how to enter it. I amposting this because I felt that it couldpossibly happen again (not with Cat he is now registered) but with others trying topost trade proposals. I think it would be a good cautionary measure to make sure that no one can pretend to be you in the chat. Sorry this is so long but it took a while to explain things. If you have any questions about this let me know. CK Website to register clutchchat nicks: http://www.webchat.org ------------------ CC.Net Sim Homepage For stats, standings and team information.
