<VENT ON> can go to HELL . I have been down 4 FREAKING DAYS AT HOME!!!!!!!!! No Rockets chats.....NO NOTHING!!! I call them up and they tell me to run winipcfg at the start -> run prompt. They ask me what my IP address is. They tell me..."oh you shouldn't have that IP address....you should have an IP address that starts with 66. blah blah blah". So, release and renew your IP address. Does zippo...same IP comes back. So, I'm like well this is DHCP....I'm not assigning my own IP address. Tech guy is like clueless, puts me on hold, and comes back saying some master head-end server or something is erroneously assigning me an invalid IP address starting with 101. blah blah blah. The problem is on their end. This is the 3rd day of this crap and this is last evening. So, he's like, "we are aware of the problem and it should be corrected shortly". So, I'm like "...but probably not tonite right?". He's like, "it should be tonite". So, I try this morning and still getting that bad IP address and zero access to Internet or e-mail. 4 days in a row of downtime. Ever since @home went bankrupt and my cable company has set up their own network for their cable customers....I have been down more than ever before. I don't know about you guys...but when I get home and I want to chat during a Rockets game or read messages at Clutch BBS or whatever....and my Internet access is down for 4 days in a row...THEN I'M ONE PISSED OFF, IRRITATED CUSTOMER. I'm wondering if my cable service will ever be back online. In internet time, 4 days is like a six months. I wonder if they support internet businesses cause if they do...those business are filing for bankruptcy right about now. What kind of company can't fix something like this in 4 days...that's 96 hours tech support guys should be working on this. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!! </VENT OFF>
On a brighter note... My AT&T Internet connection has stabilized after the initial switchover from Excite. I've had pretty stable connections for the past few weeks.
I'M BACK UP ..................FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG...I just realized....I passed the 1,000 post barrier. Ah...who cares about that milestone? A few words.... It's official....I now have 1,006 posts of complete crap. I'm long past criticizing the Rockets and I'm no flipping coach. Let the players play and the coaches coach....and let the chips fall where they may. I luv the Rockets no matter what....since '80. Yes, most of my posts have come here in the Hangout. One of my more memorable threads was "Bullard is an idiot" in the Rockets2000 forum when he predicted a win over the Clippers when we were playing really bad. I thought he was being a pompous ass by declaring victory. Sure thing, Saddam. Funny thing....we won the game and Bullard had his best game as a Rocket EVER. I think he read my post! Everyone else did....lol. I really did like Bullard and was sad to see him go...he was our best 3 pointer for many years in my book. Yes, more of my posts try to be funny, try to be sarcastic(at times), and talk about every day life and happenings. I can be serious enough...I've even had a few of those dreaded "I lost my cool on the Internet forum" debacle/tirades under my belt(you know who you are) . The Hangout is my favorite place on the Web.....we are like a family of strangers(and some non-strangers) . I would die for you guys...if only cause your a Rockets fan. The Hangout has that spark that other forums don't have. The various talents and people of many ages come out here and we are all pretty respectful of each other. We all know things and trade knowledge that, I think, makes us the better for it. I just like the Hangout and the entire Clutch BBS best of all. The Rockets have provided that spark to light the fire that burns ever so bright in our humble home.... the Clutch BBS. If that fire ever went out, then the Internet doesn't mean as much. It could never happen, though, cause we rule and......THE ROCKETS WILL ALWAYS BE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!! Have an excellent night!
I hear your pain, man. I'm on charter & they can be pathetic. I have thought several times of changing my ISP, but I for now will stay with them.
Optimum online, a product of cablevision has kicked arse fro me for the last 2 years or so. no problems at all . never any problems. I really hope they are not bought out by AOL/Time warner. it could ruin a good thing
Charter blows so hard. They are all I can get at my apts. in the woodlands. So I am stuck with them for Cable, but use DSL for my Internet. Damn they were always down and their techs were idiots. Damn Cable is out right now...... Hate 'Em!
