I was watching last night and noticed the Bobcats logo on their hat looked new. So I did some research and found this, what'dya think?
Its an alternate logo. A bunch of teams have them now. Just like the Hornets had this on their hat yesterday.
I did not know that. Alternate jerseys, alternate logos... next is alternate Mascots with another set of hott alternate cheerleaders.
i'm sure there's profitable reasons to do it. for me its confusing enough already with team's ONE logo with 8 different uniform variations. now the logos with have variations. that hornets logo doesnt look too bad though
I actually like that It does marry them to New Orleans a bit but using the Saints logo that way Excellent Job Hornets!! Rocket River
Forget the alternate logo. What the Bobcats need is an alternate President, GM, and roster that doesn't suck.
The Rockets had an alternate logo in the day. Instead of the whole grinning dildo flying around a basketball, it was a small mini grinning rocket flying around the letter R.
I agree...it's a great looking logo and should be their primary. As for Charlotte's new alternate...as with their regular logo (and team colors) it's best suited as a college team.
I wonder if we'll get an alternate logo or uniform ever? Those black & red uni's that Clutch or whoever designed a couple years back looked sweet.
IMO it would be awesome if they just brought back their championship jerseys and start wearing that as an alternate. You'd have an alternate home and road, maybe...wear it on every saturday game we play.
Hmm it looks somewhat like the Timberwolves+Dallas Mavericks logo in terms of the style. Color-wise its different obviously..
Well yeah, but that kind of defeats the purpose of participating in the NBA throwback jersey games if we're already wearing our throwbacks whenever. That's kind of why I like the black & red concept better since it's new, edgy & looks sweet. It compares nicely to teams like the Lakers, Celtics & whoever that have already have awesome alternate jersey's.
This was an alternate logo the Cats intro'd last year. The logo was intro'd as part of the team's new identity package, which the intent is now to swtich the priamry color from orange to blue and relegate orange as a secondary color. Hence the court change last year, which went from orange everywhere to barely any orange used. You should also expect to see more usage of the blue alternate jersey as it begins to be phased in as the "official" road jersey. The orange top may become the alternate or maybe even dropped altogether.... And as for New Orleans' "Fleur de Bee" alternate logo....it has had so much success, it may become the team's new primary logo. A font change on their jersey's to a font that closely resembles the font used in last year's ALL-Star game is expected for this upcoming season. Also, that secondary logo also has a new color the team will be using more or...."Creole Blue"
