Their academic standards are too high.

It's funny that Ty Willingham is beating USC right now.

Call me a cynic I don't think any school that plays in FBS has "high" academic standards for athletes.

I wonder how Notre Dame is feeling about that 10 year contract they gave him.

Has ND been eliminated from BCS bowl contention yet?

    Their next three games:

    10/06 at UCLA 8:00 PM
    10/13 #12 BC 3:30 PM
    10/20 #1 USC 3:30 PM

    They might be 0-8.

IMO, he is a very good offensive coach, no doubt. ND's problem this season is talent and whether Weiss can recruit well enough. I also question if he has the right personality for a college football coach. Weiss doesn't seem like a booster schmoozer to me.

It doesn't matter... every top ten team, or perennial powerhouse has stunk it up this year.

All will fall before it's done.

They had to do that. NFL teams were coming to knock on the door and offer him big money. They had to lock him up unless they wanted to lose him.

Yeah, sure he's still a genius. Ty Willingham's squad was a couple plays away from beating top ranked USC tonight and Charlie Weis remains winless in his third year.

I'm pretty sure Bill Belichick's personal secretary could get a head coaching position somewhere.

Still a genius. No doubt about it. He needs to be in the NFL so no time is wasted on recruiting, booster shenanigans, appearances, etc...
