I actually "lived" in Charleston for 4 months during the summer of 1990. Obviously, a lot has probably changed since that time. I posted a thread a couple months back about Asheville, NC and got a few good ideas. Well, it turns out that I'll be spending the first few days of the trip in Charleston, SC. Anybody from Charleston? Anybody spent much time in Charleston somewhat recently? I know there's quite a bit of "tourist-y" stuff, but I'm wondering if there's anything cool that might be a bit "off the beaten path," so to speak. Also, I'll be needing a place to watch a Rockets playoff game :D !

    Thanks in advance.

Over by the river, the Border Patrol agency has their academy... but you'll have to go through the "bad" neighborhoods. When a relative was going to the academy and we paid him a visit, he warned us not to stop for anything. GOOD LUCK. :D

Why are you quoting "lived"?

i quoted "lived" because, even though i stayed there for 4 months (and held a job in SC), i continued paying rent in Houston. it was like a cross between actually living there and an extended vacation.
