I'd love to get Channing Frye ... just don't think we have anything they want, since they already have too many players. If they'd take a draft pick and Sura's contract, ok, but then we'd have one MORE player under contract.

With Oden down, I'm surprised they want to move him ...

I havent seen much of his game, but can he pass? does he have good enough court vision to man the 5 or the 4?

And that's really good option. Fry is a good forward. Come on Morey. Make a push. Especially when the Blazers do not wanna his ass

Actually, DNick was kinda sorta proposing a trade for the Rockets to acquire him. I think this would have stayed in the GARM had DNick made that clear.

I would send Snyder and a first round pick to Portland for Channing or perhaps Snyder, Brooks and a future first for Channing and Rudy Fernandez. The latter would be too much of a steal on our part.

    Say no to Channing Frye...
He is good in the post but he always shy away from it and instead he keeps chucking away 17 footers that never go in...

His shooting has been a bit off but he does have that shot in his aresenal. And its hard to tell if he shys from the post or if it was just the Knicks expert coaching. It will be interesting to see how he does somewhere else. His first year was solid and shot a pretty good %. Last year he struggled for whatever reason...but who doesnt on the knicks?

Frye's pretty well rounded. Nothing flashy but solid. He always got the label as soft but i think most of that is because he's just a mild mannered personality and not so much because of his play.

I'd love to see him on the rockets...I guess portland is just looking for draft picks?

His name is Channing Frye not Channing Free.

We don't have anything Portland wants bad enough to part with him. Trying to trade guys who might not ever make the NBA for him probably won't work unless Morey has learned Jedi mind control from Obi Wan.

Rockets don't have anyone they'd want for Frye.

If the +/- 25% applies to medical exceptions Rockets can offer Jackie Butler to the Blazers for Oden's injury exception. I wouldn't think cash considerations would be enough for them maybe also give up a future first rounder in exchange for the draft rights to Joel Freeland.

Butler + future first round pick
    for
Medical exception (salary dump) + draft rights to Joel Freeland
