Does anyone in school watch channel one? It's a news program that is played in schools throughout country. Every week, there is a play of the week. This week, my alma mater and where I teach were on channel one for the play of the week.

The first lifter is my student. She weighs 198 and squated 415 making an unofficial new state record. The second is not my student, but at 98 lbs is squatting 265 in this clip.

Los Fresnos girls powerlifters have won state 4 out of the last 6 years. Way to go Lady Falcons!!! Way to go Coach Dan Smith!!!Video

*BTW, the b-team basketball coach that I had so many problems with this year is standing behind the right plates in the 1st lifter lift. The spotter on the right plates is one of the players that he was making a big deal about.

I remember Channel One! We were in on it when it first got started... would have never gotten TVs for most of our classrooms any other way. I liked it - homeroom got extended to 20 minutes, long enough to complete one homework assignment. :)

Congratulations to your school and students!

I saw that...My friends and I were playing spades, and heard the words"Squatted 415 pounds" and looked up, expecting to see a hulking powerlifting type.

We were actually kind of dissapointed...since most of us could barely do upwards of half of that.
