One of the things I'm most looking forward to, in the new arena, is that the Rockets will get to hang an individual banner for each of their division and conference championships, along with the ceremonial "re-hanging" of the glorified Championship banners (Tim... is there something special planned for this, or are they just gonna hang them up before the games start... its kinda like the ceremonial "moving home-plate" to the new ballpark)

I always felt the Rockets were slighted when they "combined" their division and conference banners into just two banners (one for all the division champs, and one for the conference champs). I also thought that this was probably an idea of Chuck Watson (who owned the lease at the summit) in order to make way for that hideous Aeros championship banner.

Honestly, whenver I brought friends from out of town to Rockets games, they were like "Who are the Aeros?... those banners look more important than the Rockets ones."

You look at Utah, Indiana, and Miami.... teams that have never won a championship, and yet they have tons and tons of banners hanging from the rafters.

I hope the Rockets "success" will be just a little bit more visible in the new buildings.

Hey Jeff, I think this guy could really do with a peak at the cutout of Toyota Center rendering, the one with all of the BANNERS.

    That should solve everything

Speaking of honoring team heros and legends

This one's for Tim, Clutch, Jeff, HeyPartner, or anyone who knows this in the house..........

What I really what to know is what is up with Hakeem's sculpture out front of TC. I saw that on the Sports Authority website, they have the location where Dream's statue is supposed to be tabbed as "Sculpture Flags." So I am guessing it will be a sculpture and not a statue to honor Dream, which should be interesting. And now I see the foundation for the Sculpture is in place. So is the design finalized and when we see what it will look like.

I was in Houston and drove by the TC on Saterday and all I could think of was..."Is this thing really going to be ready in 2 months?" It just looks like they still have several months of work left to do on it just on the outside.

Actually in the last 2 months of the building phase, things tend to move faster then you would expect. This is the time where is is actually fun to pay attention to construction updates and photos.

And on the foundation looking like a hurricane for Dream's sculpture..................

I've heard that it was designed that way to put more emphasis on movement on the suclpture, which will be made to incorporate Hakeem's "whirling" and "swirling" movemnts in his patented "Dream Shake" move. Thus spawning this hurricane like shape for the base of the sculpture. Can someone elaborate more on this. Cuz this is really confusing to picture in one's mind.

Four Comets' Championships, 2 Rockets' Championships, 1 Aeros Championship.

Too bad the Rice Baseball team doesn't play in the "Summit" :)

Kim Perot's jersey is missing, Tiger.

    voilá!

I guess there were too many banners and not enought space in that cutaway to include it in. But, I'm pretty sure they wont leave Kim out.

Damn TC's rafters is gonna end up looking like Boston Garden if they put up all of the Banners you guy's suggest they should.

I'm gonna propose one more though.

They should have a banner for the CC.net BBS, the biggest and best fan site for the best fans in the world.

    :)
