I think it's hilarious when somebody's reason for the Rockets picking Tyler Zeller is:

"He's big, and Center is a glaring need for the Rox right now."

Street lights are big too. But we don't need to draft one.

Nobody knows 100%, but Zeller's bound to be a 10 ppg guy in the NBA.

    Pass.

Suns nabbing Lamb at 13 will make a lot of people (me included) mad...

    Tyler Zeller because:

    (a) If we keep him, he fits in with the McHale-Morey "we need to get better white-now!" (Parsons, D-Mo, Dragic, Bud) philosophy

    - or -

    (b) If we don't keep him, we can delude ourselves that Orlando will be happy to get a center, any center, to help replace the one they'll lose.

None of the centers in the 2012 NBA draft look worth a you-know-what, so I'm not thrilled with the idea of drafting one.

Hey, like it or not, legit 7-footers who can walk and chew gum at the same time are at a premium in this league. Zeller has the potential to be an above-average starting center. (There's no reason to think that he could not max out at the Gortat-Jordan-Asik level of talent.) That alone makes him worth a late lottery pick. And his floor (above-average backup C) is so much higher than most of the players in the draft.

I'd be fine with Zeller at #14 . . . if they can't trade up.

An Anthony Davis/Jared Sullinger frontcourt would be fun to watch. Don't get me wrong, I'll still watch our perenially best-team-out-of-the-playoffs Rockets, but that combination would make the Hornets interesting.

Also, if Thomas Robinson falls to #5 I would like to throw Sacramento's way some package of Lowry, our two picks, and, say, Marcus Morris. Would that be enough?

Or maybe Lowry, Scola, and pick(s) and/or Morris?

We gotta at least try for Robinson if he falls to the Kings. He's going to be Millsap + Ppat on steroids.

Lowry, Ppat, and Bud for him

Ford definitely knows Morey. Those are the smart, safe picks.

I'd rather have Melo late than Zeller early.

Draft a pair of 7 footers and throw 'em in an arena with a pair of sporks and chainsaws.

2 scrubs enter, 1 starter leaves.

What, I didn't see ALOT of him (Zeller) just some tourney games and he just looked like an active big, no extra-ordinary skills just bigger than collegiate players with a decent motor. Seems like a rotation big to me who might get you 8 and 8 on most nights.

I expect Zeller, drummond, leonard, and melo to all go higher than projected...2-3 pics higher.

    8 and 8?!?!?!?!

Do you know how many NBA players average 8 and 8? Not many. And those who do make a hell of a lot of money.

    I'll take 8 and 8.

Or . . . you're just not very good at pegging what a reasonable statistical performance is. No offense.

I don't want value or safe picks anymore. No to Zeller.

I'd take Lamb, Leonard, Henson, Harkless, Wroten, Royce at 14 and 16.

    Fab Melo is a bust.
