Kirk Snyder interview from today. Talks about upcoming season and summer workout routine. http://www.click2houston.com/video/14146179/index.html
I wanted this guy to kill it last season but unfortunately he hurt his hand. Nice to see that he knows his role (or lack thereof) and wants to expand on it. Seems like he's matured alot since he came into the league as well. I'll be rooting for you kirk! Sucks he's at the end of the bench with all the talent we have though.
I really hope that Snyder will have a productive year for us despite all the competition for minutes but it's up to him to get better and be ready when he is called on by the coach.
Man I'm so excited on what kirk can bring to the table. Like what lfe71 said, it'll be hard for him to crack in and have some playing time since bonzi, sf3, james, are all in front of him in the depth chart. And we still have to see what novak can do. Man, this team is deep in the backcourt. I can't wait for even training camp to start!!!
hell, van gundy was a loser. he benched bonzi wells and still could'nt get snyder any minutes during the regular season, and all of play-offs. only time i ever seen snyder in a rockets game was in the preseason, and caeo appearances whenever the rocket ran a fast break.
Kirk looks happy. I hope he finds a role this year too. Man we just have too much talent!! I want to keep them all! I love how mature he seems here. He doesn't at all seem like a guy with any need for attitude adjustments in this interview... and its quite possibly the longest interview I have seen with just him. Great stuff Hilltopper! Only a few more weeks to preseason!!
thx for the link...good to see hes got a good ethic..and is mature..hopefully he'll have the opportunity to shine this season
do you guys think that snyder can one day be like t-mac .. he has potential with major hopz ...... let hope he can contribute this season
Considering that Kirk's most glaring problem is an inability to get to the basket with the ball in his hands, it would be nice to see him get some minutes in Adelman's system...one designed to put player's in position to score without having to dribble the ball much, if at all. Once Kirk is near the basket, he's money. In fact he had the best % around the basket of any Rocket last season, by far. Look it up.
wow...a lot of love for Kirk Snyder...which is good because I also think he has a potential role on this team if he cracks the rotation... ...but what happened to the posters who say that Kirk Snyder has a low Bball IQ? I still don't understand why people make that assumption.
Personally, I consider someone to have a low BBall IQ if they: - take bad shots - make bad passes - commit silly fouls - can't rotate correctly on defense - can't read a pick n' roll efficiently Those are just some examples, and I haven't seen enough of Kirk's game to know if that describes him or not.
Pot8o: Is there a depth chart for next season posted somewhere. I haven't seen it yet. Could you give me a link to it please. I would love to know who the starting five are as well as the second 5.
Capitan kirk has all the attributes to be a very good player player under adelman. he is gonna be a nightmare to defend off the ball. he is big and atheletic. he will get alot of easy dunks in the motion offense.
he talks pretty well and doesn't seem to come off like most basketball players, (people who feel like they have to present themselves as tougher than they are) hopefully he gets an important role this year. i like his potential.
