Randy McIlvoy of NBC in Houston had a interview with Derek Anderson today in Houston and Anderson said Rockets are his No.1 choice because they have a strong and young foundation with Stro, Yao, and T-Mac. Todays meeting was very upbeat and he says he will make decision by Sunday night or Monday morning at lastest. Good News.

I also forgot to say is that DA said he hopes to end his career here but the Rockets only offered a 2 year deal.

DS said the same thing, but at least DA knows, right from the beginning, what contract we can offer him.

    Yao/Mutumbo
    Swift/Howard
    Tmac/Barry/Bowen
    DA/Wesley/Barry/Head
    Sura/James/Head

I dont know exactly how the bench rotation will work out, but our starting lineup is solid now. We have a good mix of Super Stars, Stars, Role players, and energy guys.

    I'm real excited now.

I don't think anyone is going to suddenly offer DA more than he has been offered at this point in the game... he may just want to let teams have one more crack...

but is seems Finley is going to the Heat
Spree to the Pistons (great fit btw)
    McKie to LA
    DA to Houston

.... Doug and Jackie Christie (and Doug's tore up knees and broke down soul) to Dallas :D

In DA's case, there's no question of a sign and trade like with Damon. He knows exatly what we have to offer. Also, he'll get slightly less than half of any new contract he signs, so the bills aren't that much greener anywhere else.

That is the max length that we can offer. I'm sure he understands that.

DS wasn't an amnesty casualty. DA gets paid to sit at home if he wants. This sounds more like SS, sounds like he didn't like only talking about a 2 yr deal, might be a show stopper if someone offers him MLE money. LLE is cheap for a guy with his talent but it su*ks not having the money to go after these guys. We might wind up being last at the dinner table and getting scraps.

marc vandermeer on the radio this afternoon "the rockets getting derek anderson is a pipe dream"

i laughed when i heard him say that. i was thinking this guy must be thinking derek anderson and ron artest are the same caliber of player.

listening to him talk about the rockets is like listening to bill worrell talk about the texans.

You can only offer a 2 year deal with the LLE if I'm not mistaken.

I rarely listen to the afternoon show, because I can't stand The Voice.

The Voice has taken over Dulati's spot as the most negitive guy on the radio. I've never heard him agree with a caller on anything, and I think the whole 'Rock and Roll' thing is lame.

    Sura James Moochie Ward
    (Fin/Spree/DA) Wesley Barry Head
    Tracy Bowen
    Swift JHo
    Yao Deke Baker

That's 15. How about Wesley + JHo for MoT? Basically a salary dump + making room for Baxter.

Mark Berman of Fox 26 just said Anderson will make his decision Monday. He also said Anderson has already been offered more money by another team but at this point of their career, winning is more important.

Are you referring to Maurice Taylor? I like the idea of making room for Baxter but at the expense of picking up Taylor? No thanks.
