Why won't the Rockets bring him back? Since Gene and Jim are going to be gone, they should reunite Bill and Calvin. They were the best commentating duo on TV!
C-Murph is a great, hilarious guy who always makes for great radio/TV... will definitely have to check him out tonight on Sports Sunday so I can mention it Monday during his show.
did anyone see calvin doing commentary for last night's "the greatest slam dunks" during the spud webb? miss that guy calvin. and it was cool seeing the early 80s footage of him when he was giving congrats to spud after the slam dunk competition.
It might be because you have normal hearing and intelligence. Calvin Murphy was a great player, but he was an appalling announcer. I'm not saying he's worse than Clyde, but he was pretty damn bad.
The chemistry between Bill and Calvin was impeccable though. They were always playing off one other, making inside jokes, etc. What they lacked in announcing skills, they made up for with charisma.
Because he molests his own children. Even if he didn't, his own kids don't like or respect him. The dude was a baton-twirling fruitcake. His announcing was obviously better than Clyde's but I'd rather deal with a lesser announcer than have Murphy back.
i love how you know some much about Calvin Murphy's personal life... not of course you can blame him for having too many kids, but to think you can draw conclusions about it is pretty much what's wrong with this country today. you ever think the kids are messed up? what about those Columbine kids? you think their parents told them to go out and kill people? as Chris Rock said, what happened to just crazy? can't people just be crazy?
