Weird week where most of the good games are at 2:30 rather than the usual 6:30 or 7:00. I plan on flipping over to BC/FSU a little bit tonight during commercials in the Astros game. BC has been playing well of late, and FSU...well...really hasn't been. Jimbo Fisher really isn't an any trouble himself (not least because his buyout is MASSIVE), but missing a bowl game this year would almost guarantee a situation where he's forced to shake up the coaching staff. That's kind of unfair, but that's the way college football goes. The Francois injury was a killer, the hurricane-dictated schedule changes didn't help, and it's not as if they've dropped any games that they absolutely had no business losing. Alabama is Alabama, NC State and Miami are legitimately good, and while Louisville isn't great, they do have Lamar Jackson. You have to wonder how things might have been different had they had a "get well" game against ULM after the Bama loss in order to figure out who they were after Francois's injury before they took on NC State.
Sooo...I thought BC would hang with FSU and maybe even win the game, but I never expected them to blow out the Seminoles the way they did. I still just think this is a season where the program should just be able to take a mulligan given all that's happened, but man, I can completely understand why some of their fanbase has probably come unhinged by now.
Today is one of the very rare instances all 4 major networks (ABC/CBS/Fox/NBC) have games scheduled at the same time (2:30pm CDT). Probably 75% of people will watch Penn State at Ohio State on Fox.
That's one of the worst red zone passes in the history of organized football. He did do a good job stopping the pick-6 though.
And then Iowa State botches the kick. Teams turn into absolute fools against TCU. It's hilarious haha.
For a pretty sloppy penalty fest (on TCU at least), there have been some very interesting plays in this one. Hoping Georgia doesn't pull one of their patented dog games and meets Bama with both undefeated. That would be fun.
J.T. Barrett wears jersey #16 Barrett just threw a go ahead 16 yard td on his 16th straight completion
Well OK. Ohio State is the best team in the Big Ten after all. Major props to JT Barrett. He was crazy good.
