Not sure if this should be in the Hangout forum or this one. Last season I remember (hope I am not day dreaming) there was a game where CC.net organized for all the BBS posters to buy tickets and sit together in a section. Is there going to be another one of these games again anytime soon? I haven't been to a game yet, and I really want to go to one. I would drive down to Houston in a heart beat for a get together game. The question popped into my head after reading a couple of threads about the fans in the TC. NOthing better than a group of CF.net fans screaming their heads off and jumping up and down. Thanks, UP
That was for SmeggySmeg's honeymoon trip to the States. I'm not sure that anyone would want to take the reins and try to organize such an event. I know I wouldn't. I prefer organizing things where, if people don't show up who say they would, you're not stuck wasting a bunch of money.
I think someone would still have to put up money for the tickets if you wanted to get them all together.
oh ok. That sucks, I wish the Rockets organization could be cool and let us have the area if we gurantee a certain number. I mean, the tickets must be purchased ahead of time using the member's money. So no matter what, the Rox would have those tickets sold. Also, if there was an additional cost to have us sit together, how much more do you think it would be? Like could there me another "convenience" charge added to the tickets? (added by the organizers)
I'm not one for responisbility, but if someone more anal can pull this trick off, I'll be glad to bring tons of beer. 'Cause obviously we'd need to tailgate. In, uh, one of those tiny paid parking lots...
I hope we have one. Watching a game with a friend is fun, but watching it with a number of other die hard fans would be sweet, also I would get to meet a number of you all for the first time. Guess I should try to start it.
Best time to do it would be spring break. That's the only way everyone will show up. There would be no excuse And everyone can have name tags reading their CF.net user name hehe
Yeah, that is what I was thinking. That or a long weekend. I could get a T-shirt made for a couple of bucks with CC.net and my name on it. or....will that be too geeky?
I say we get Clarence Weatherspoon to host our group. You know, like Cat's Corner or Mo's Bunch. Our's will be Weatherspoons free-loaders or something
uprising - good luck..... the problems are someone has to pony up for tickets and then rely on people who say yes to actually pay you.... make em pay first and get Tim to hold the tickets for you while you collect money....
Uprising, I think it will be a good idea to let people who wants to go pay first. I would love to go the Minnesota game on mar 29th, if you are going to that game, shoot me an e-mail, I would pay you for the ticket.
My bad, can't go to the game on 29th, I'll be out of town, but any game before that on a weekend would work for me.
I would definitely go if we can organize it!!! Well only weekend games..like on Friday or Saturday..or during spring break. And hmm.. I would probably only pay for the 20 dollar tickets. If we can get 20 people..they are 18 bucks...I don't know if there are convenience charges for group tickets. And it would be nice to go to a game where there's a promotional item. I hope we can organize it!
alright cool. I also would like to keep the tickets in the $20 range. A spring break game sounds like the best bet. I am going to see what games are on the weekends and spring break time. Ane take a quick peek at the number of tickets I could get all in one section togheter on certain games. I would be cool to be able to plan something like this early and try to get everyone to pay up in advance to make sure there aren't any empty seats from people who say they are going but don't show up etc. It would need to be paid up in front, and if you get a change of plans etc and can't make it, there would be a good chance you can't get your money back, especially if the tickets are bought already. (non-refundable)
I would be able to do something next season and buy the tickets upfront and hold sometype of weekend event that people who wants the tickets can buy them at someplace and since I am looking into buying 250+ tickets I can pass along the discount to CC net fans. Buying tickets in one section is the best way and easiest for the ticketing department to sell the tickets and all the CC net people can sit together but games like the Lakers games or some of the other hot commoddity team would not be included in the discount ticket plan but we will see what comes up next season.
I am going to be in Houston for a friend's wedding from March 11 to March 15. Count me in if cf.net will have a group outing. I have tickets to the games on 3/11 and 3/13 already, but I'd be thrilled to trade them in to sit with fellow cf.net members.
