Granted this is a complete mismatach, but what I found interesting is Garnett and crew are pissed and they are up 23 at half. For them to show that much emotion during a meaning regular season game, kinda shows how their are aiming for perfection. The only thing stopping them is injuries, which is a serious issue whenever a team plays this hard night in and night out. Oh and Rondo is shooting 56 percent for the season
As a Celtics fan, I found it so easy to talk smack on this forum when they weren't very good. I remember arguing here that Jiri Welsch (sp? and whatever happened to him?) and later Dan Dickau, Orien Greene and Sebastian Telfair would be part of a championship-caliber backcourt. Ricky Davis was a future hall-of-famer, and shame on you Rockets fans for calling him selfish! Now? Honestly--watching winning basketball drove home how little I know about basketball, and I'm so humbled I don't feel like talking much smack anymore. Go C's! Thirteen in a row!
Well I used to really dislike KG, though I respected him. He's one of those players: if he were on the Rockets, it would be a KG lovefest 24-7 around here, trust me. Also an interesting thing about him is that his intensity, which sometimes borders on insanity, is largely confined to basketball. He likes being a "heel" to borrow the WWE terminology. Off the court he's one of the shyest people out there, and everyone likes him--whereas Kobe and Jordan have incredibly competitive streaks and have pissed off many, many people in "real life." Garnett is both a competitor and a nice guy, which is incredibly rare.
Pathetic game. It illustrates why I resent the choke-hold TNT has on the NBA. Whenever they have a double-header on Tuesday or Thursday, usually there is only one other game played that day. So when the TNT games are stinkers, there is nothing else to watch. It would be better if NBA games were evenly spread out on weekdays instead of being crammed into Mon/Wed/Fri when there are way too many to follow.
That is a good post that pretty much sums up KG for me as well......... You probably don't realise his great influence until he is on your team......
