looks like orlando will end up with the second seed. i still favor the celtics in most matchups anyways in the east i am sure the vets will be ready come playoff time.

i hope KG decides to sit out the playoffs too.

KG's soft. Why can't he play through it? He has to play on it to strengthen the knee. He must not have taken rehab seriously. Probably just sat around and got fat.

Remind you of anyone who needed microfracture surgery?

    I hate tmac haters.

The big difference is that you would have to be insane to question KG's dedication and effort level.

difference in the east playoffs and the west
the first round match ups will be much tougher for the home team
boston can afford to take the first series lightly with garnett
if they were a wc team they would want him back getting in game shape for the first round series

KG hasn't been playing like puss when he's been on the court this season.

Back on the subject, I don't think KG needs more than 3 games to get his mojo back going into the playoffs. He doesn't look to score anymore anyway so it isn't like losing his shooting touch is going to matter much.

I still like the Cavs to come out of the east, however.

Again, Tracy had to find a witch doctor that would even consider microfracture...

And it is not the first time Tracy's mental toughness and heart has been a question, His entire career...

The Celts might be done. Without KG at full strength, they can't beat the Cavs and won't beat the Magic in the playoffs. Without KG at all, the Bulls or Pistons CAN take them and the Heat or Sixers probably WILL take them out in the 1st round. Even with a healthy KG, the Celts aren't as good as last year. With him at less than full strength, the Celts aren't a championship contender.

Last year was their special year and this year they can wear the mantle of "defending champions" until they lose.

Special request: PLEEEEASE leave McGrady out of this thread. C'mon, put your head back on.

You think it's that serious? To me, it just sounds like Rivers wants him to get a little rest/recovery before the postseason. It's not like the Celtics NEED to win out or anything for seeding purposes.

Rivers has ran these guys into the ground the past two seasons, no doubt. And if this is serious, I agree entirely. But for now it just sounds precautionary more than anything.

No way. There is no freaking way Cleveland wins 7 game series against Boston.

It went down to the final seconds in game 7 last year. And this time Cleveland has home court.

'No freaking way?' I don't think it's a sure thing either way. How can you be so sure?

There are rumors that it is more serious than the Celts are letting on. If KG struggles in the 2nd round or in the ECFs, the Celtics will lose. Teams will game plan and stifle them. They will miss him even more on defense, where KG is the key to everything.

It's been a long season, they let him rest it a while, he comes back and starts hurting bad again. I consider that a very bad sign and don't think he's going to make it full-time through 4 rounds in the playoffs. You guys who think the Celts can waltz through the EC playoffs without KG are mistaken. The bottom 4 East teams (Heat, Pistons, Sixers, Bulls) have some bite in them and won't just roll over for Boston. Look at what happened last year.

Right, like Cleveland wasn't an inch away from taking the series last year.

Let's not forget that Boston lost Posey and PJ Brown for nothing, while Cleveland added Mo Williams for nothing.

People forget this. Game 7 was a classic and even fewer people remember that game 5 was there for Cleveland were it not for a couple of consecutive, flukey, game-changing 3-pointers by Rondo in the 2nd half.

IMO, if they hadn't been completely unprepared for the series so much that games 1 & 2 were complete wastes of time, the Cavs would have taken the series. In games 3-7, they completely controlled their 3 home games and lost the 2 games in Boston by a thread.

MrB, you close the argument. The Celts are worse and the Cavs are much better than last year.

I am. I know Cavs have gotten better, but still, Boston's defense and their expierence is gonna be big.

I understand Cleveland is having a fantastic season, but still I do not pick them to win it all. And as I said, I don't even think they can beat Boston.

Boston needs to be better on the road, though and maybe the athleticism of Cavs' players will cause them some troubles but I'd pick Boston in 6 games.

    I just feel that way.
