Trade rumor out of Phoenix: Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo for Amare Stoudemire, Leandro Barbosa, and the 14th overall pick. Source: sports.ktar.com

This would be a very interesting trade, if it's even in the works. I would be laughing at the Suns though since they just traded Rondo away for, I don't really remember who.

actually I think no way the suns do that deal... I mean ray allen is getting old quick and rondo is a good player, but amare is an allstar and young... also a lottery pick... and I think the Celts would jump on the deal.

I don't want to call it a bad trade, yet. But, it is weird.

You already have KG and Perkins as big men, unless the Celtics decide to trade one of them or use a big front line next year.

They lose a very quality point guard for combo pg/sg who is biggest asset is mainly scoring.

With Phoenix, they already have Jason Richardson (who is younger), while Rondo would likely backup Steve Nash, temporarily. Or unless, they decide to trade him. Most of all, the Suns lose a power forward, unless they see potential in Robin Lopez to start at that spot and pick someone else up through FA (as starter/backup and another C).

no way in hell the celtics trade rondo.

phoenix would jump all over that as they are essentially trying to give away amare and barbosa and rondo is probably about as good of a young 'star' that they could hope for in return.

on face value...the celtics seem to be losing a lot than they gain...ray allen is a proven all star with the best jumpshot in the game but you have to consider he'll be turning 34 this year...not many years left in those legs...and with amare and leandro both in their mid 20's...they have yet to hit their prime...

I don't believe it because it's crazy for both sides.

    Suns:

    1) Fear Amare is never going to get back to form after eye problem.
    2) But Allen? Waaaay too old.

    Celtics:

    1) Would be admitting KG's knees are in deep trouble.
    2) Trading the playoff hot-stuf Rondo? Not happening.
    3) Probably the same concern regarding Amare.

I think NBA basketball is seriously diluted by the subjectivity of the rules and refs.

    Rarely.

If it's true, it tells 2 things:

1: KG will never be 100% again
    2: Nash will be traded

The Suns will be looking for a PF and Young players, will you do this trade:

    Richardson/Nash for TMac/Landry/Lowry

Rondo, in total value moving forward, is the single most valuable asset the Celtics currently have. The big three are all near the end of their careers and are therefore relatively overpaid. Rondo will make $3.78M next year. Pierce and Garnett will make about $20M each.

To me, this trade would be incredibly dumb for the Celtics.

Yeah I was about to say that.

If this trade does happen, does that mean nash is a available?

Morey is a God if he made that trade..I'm all for Nash/Richardson trade..then we could draft Patty Mills in order to replace Nash in the future.

We will still have Brooks as Nash's backup and student. We need some1 to replace Landry, ideally, a 7 footer can play both 4 and 5.

I don't get it. Why would Boston trade Rondo? And why would the Celtics want Amare, who will likely bolt after 1 year? I don't think that's worth giving up your stud PG for. The Celtics aren’t really a better team next season with Amare, minus Allen and Rondo.

Isn't Mills shorter than Brooks?? Why would we want 2 points under 6'??

I just visited a Celtics board. Their fans are saying they can live with a combo guard playing PG, either is Barbosa or sign someone cheap.
