    I guess the Celtics are viewing it much in the same way Major League Baseball teams send players down to the minors for rehab stints. Something tells me Rondo won't quite see it the same way.....

    Under the prior CBA, only players in their first two seasons could be sent down. Period.

    Under the current CBA, now players can be sent down during their first three seasons an unlimited number of times. ALSO, more experienced veterans can be sent down WITH THEIR CONSENT.

    If Rondo actually DOES go to the D-League, it will be of his own volition.

    This is like what the Knicks did with Amare when he was back from injury. It might piss Rondo off but it makes sense.
