heres the video clip of the altercation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKsS-3j9sfg

if amare/diaw got suspended last year then KG should have been suspended for pushing the ref because suspensions have been handed out for the exact same thing.

nice consistency Stern. it will be lakers/celtics final because thats what stern wants. CONSPIRACY!

Yeah, I bet Garnett was "using his head there". Or am I the only one who thinks his 'toughness' and 'intensity' is as phony as they come? Hit him back and he's in a distance.

    those celtics announcers are ridiculous

pachulia gets up in KG's face: "that's a headbutt!"

pachulia has an arm on KG's shoulder trying to box out, KG throws his bow in retaliation: "zaza instigated it"

i used to like KG but being on a winning team has turned his admirable intensity into annoying entitlement. definitely rooting for the hawks to upset the nba's new darling team. i still like ray allen and paul pierce though.

no Kidd suspension. No Garnett suspension.

Astonishing since they so quickly suspended last year in the spurs-suns series.

EDIT: watched the clip again. garnett pushed a referee - its blatant, and its after he instigated the action. it's insane that this did not get a suspension. Insane. Yao once got a technical for placing his hand on a refs back. Insane.

I don't remember where I saw it, but there is a clear picture of KG pushing one of the Refs. Its BULL****, no suspension.

For some reason this really bothers me. I don't care for the suns, but damn they got screwed last year given this series of "judgements".

You know what - I need to b****.

This is more than insanity. It's either criminal stupidity or conspiracy. The suns were suspended for leaving the bench. No altercation, no involvement - just a "rules are rules" breach. Here is another, but neither the guys leaving the bench, nor the player making contact with the ref are suspended. Lest you think it's "superstar treatment" it's the inverse. The suns had a myriad of critical players suspended. The hawks and celtics lost no one.

What's with the inconsistency? It's utterly ridiculous. And as a fan, it's totally diconcerting. When video evidence shows that Derek Fisher's miracle shot against the spurs was impossible, but the league still sticks to it's silly "minimum time for a shot rule" you'd have to wonder what the **** they are using to determine the rigor of any rules they make up.

It's enough to make you do what I've done. I enjoy the regular season, but I've long since determined that the playoffs are no longer basketball. It's just mix of flopping and wrestling on wood with no oversight.

    bitter.

No suspension for KG is no big deal, but IT'S A BIG PROBLEM IF PERKINS OR WHOEVER DOESN'T GET SUSPENDED FOR LEAVING THE BENCH!!

If the NBA wants to have a strict liability rule, they better enforce no matter who it is. First, I think it is a dumb rule, but it's no excuse to enforce it for one incident and not to for another.

Hakeem once got suspended simply for putting his hand on a ref

Yeah the KG pushoff on the ref didn't look that bad. It was more of getting away from a ref that grabbed him.

Anybody starting to dislike KG more and more?. Maybe it has to do something with playing for Boston or maybe I just dont feel sorry for him anymore, since hes not a crappy team anymore.

If lakers make the finals, I'll be VERY surprised.. Hornets and Spurs are both WAY better.

Ya know what??? Sterns a flip-flopper!!!! How dare he change policy based on an evaluation of past applications!!! Travesty! Murder! Tornadoes! You either decide to do something the same way for all time... or you are a FLIP FLOPPER!

What I expected. Last thing Stern wants is another Spurs/Pistons finals. This is proof of it. Did you see him at the game in Atlanta last night? He looked as if his boyhood heroes were getting beat.

the whole freakin Celtics team are going around with this swagger - and they havent done a damn thing yet!!

they tied at 2 against the bloody Hawks in the first round.

they, and their fans, think they are just going to walk into a title.

    screw them.

    Go Atlanta.

Last year they were definitely too strict ... this year I think they tried to tone it down because of the year long controversy, but now they're too lenient.

I don't mind them altering the "interpretation" of the rule, they're trying to say that they learned their lesson last game.

technicals were correct ... Sam alienface (initiating malicious contact with joe johnson) and Zaza (initiating malicious contact with Garnett) should have been suspended one game for escalation. everybody else gets a warning.
