Have they been figured out or has father Time and Grandaddy Age taken its toll on J.Shuttlesworth and The Truth already? Or is it their short inexperienced bench?

This Celtics team isnt playing no where near the level as before and it cant just be Garnett being sidetracked!

It's a long season. Teams will go through stretches of poor play, ours was in the beginning of the season (hopefully the only one). I'm not ready to write them off. It's hard to maintain that intensity for 82 games.

BTW, it's almost a tie game now. Good night for basketball.

I think the adrenaline has worn off. A lot of people mentioned that this team was so hot early on that they could fizzle out later on. There is not enough talent on that squad to maintain the level they were playing at. Now with that said, I think Celtics management knew that and still have a trick or two up their sleeve.

I also think these guys were playing purely on emotion to start the season. Now, they know what they can do as a unit and are content to cruise a bit as they know that it is more important to come into the playoffs rested as opposed to chasing a ridiculous win total when we all know you can have home court advantage with .500 basketball in the East.

Playing in the WC will do that to you. No way they could have kept it up against the big boys.

I was one of the people who ridiculed the idea the Celts could win 70 games. The dog days are here now and have caught up to them. Another big difference is their schedule as the first 35-40 or so games were incredibly easy. I don't think the wheels will fall off and, from my standpoint, they remain the favorites in the East. What's important is that they stay healthy, try and stay ahead of the Pistons and be ready to ramp up their stifling defense in the playoffs. Doing that will put them in the Finals.

Celtics never impress me. The revamped Cavs and LBJ will kick Celtics' ass in a playoff series. But the East belongs to the Pistons.

I was interested in the graphic of the Suns' collective record against the top 8 western teams. To my surprise, they've only played 17 games against them. So basically half of their remaining games are against the west's elite. I think they have the mavs 3 more times, which should be interesting.

Almost everyone thinks the Celtics or Pistons come out of the East. The way LeBron is playing, though ... I don't think I'd take either of those teams in a 7-game series against him.

Teams started playing for real and now look at the Celtics. Ha. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, none of these guys has carried their teams anywhere when it counts. They actually do need Cassell. It was a joke when I saw the "will the C's win 70" thread. Down to Earth. FINALLY

Have to disagree with you here, I'd take Boston or Detroit over the Cavs any day.

The Cavs don't really seem like they can take on Detroit or Boston. LeBron will do his thing, but I don't think they'll be able to overcome any of those two teams. Detroit choked last year, no way they should have lost. Boston is basically on par with a WC powerhouse team, and we all know how Cleveland fared against WC powerhouses (especially in the Finals).

Boston has too little depth to be on par with a WC powerhouse team

They are on cruise mode into 1st seed of the playoffs. They don't want to spend all their effort on the regular season just to exhaust themselves for the playoffs like the Mavericks.
