I'm thinking of using my cell number more for business. Is it okay to leave the cell phone on "constantly"-- moving it from my side to the charger and leaving it on while turning it off to charger it overnight. Typically I just carry it when I am out of the office and turn it off when I'm home and re-charge it every night, so this would be a different habit and I'm not sure what effect it would have on the phone itself and battery life. Feedback appreciated.
The only time my cell phone is ever off is when I forget to recharge it for a few days. They're meant to stay on all the time these days.
Speaking of cell phones. My damn puppy chewed through my charger cord so it was opened up. It fried my phone last night. But by some miracle it just started working again.
Thanks for the feedback. The one thing that makes me nervous is the voicemail. I posted a thread about this a few weeks ago. I have Verizon cellular and the service is pretty darn good... except for the voicemail. I've had instances where the voicemail was delivered 3-4 days after it was recorded. That's not good enough for business use.
My dad has that same problem with his voicemail (maybe he has Verizon... I dunno) But he just tells everyone to make the voicemail urgent (there's a special option for that with his provider), and then he gets it the same day. It's quite a pain in the butt just to get your voicemail, but if that's what it takes...
I've had that same problem with Verizon's voicemail. It doesn't happen too often, but it is very annoying when it does happen.
