I have 3 phones on a cell phone family plan. My contract with T-Mobile expired a year ago, and I have not re-signed any new contract. I see all these deals if I sign a new contract, I get a free phone, etc.. Question #1) Is it possible to re-sign with Tmobile and keep the same phone numbers and get three free phones? Question #2) If I cancel my current family contract (that is expired), can I switch all three phones to a new carrier (like Sprint, Verizon) and keep the same numbers. Would they offer me three free phones, since I am switching three lines? Question #3) If I switch carriers for all three phones, is there an extra charge to make the phones under a family plan? If I tell them I want to convert these three new lines to a family plan, is there a cancellation charge in order for me to put me on the family plan? Thanks.
1. yes 2. yes, if you switch to another provider, your basically getting the phones that are labeled "free" for starting service. 3. nope How long you been with TMobile? If its been more than the original contract and then some, they will try to keep you as much as possible. For example, if they have a promotion that is only offered for new subscribers, they will most likely give u the same deal, if not better. I've been with them for 7 years, my contract expires next month and I am going to try to get a a deal thats comparable for a new customer.
1 You can definitely keep the phone numbers. Getting new phones for free just depends are what they offer you. My guess is you could get 3 low end phones for free or pretty cheap if you lock into a new contract with T-Mobile. 2 You can definitely switch all three phone numbers to another carrier. You CANNOT take the same phones with you. If you switch carriers, you will get new phones (and a new SIM card for each phone if you go to another GSM carrier like AT&T/Cingular). Verizon and Sprint PCS are CDMA and do not have SIM cards. 3 Your new carrier will NOT charge you extra for bringing phone numbers with you. Again, you will not be able to take the phones themselves to a new carrier. Hope I answered your questions.
Does anyone know of any cell phone providers that allow you to sign a 1 year contract? Everywhere I look they are trying to tie me down for 2 years?
They all allow 1 year contracts. You just need to call it in. Check this site for helpful info... Cell Phone Sales Rep Confessions
