Trying to get everyone’s opinion on celebrities effect on the election. Did it hurt Kerry more then it helped? As a Bush supporter, I know that I got very annoyed at seeing a different celebrity every other minute opening their mouth and giving their political views.

No effect imho. I mean, I'm sure that seeing celebrities speak out pissed people off, but those are people who probably didn't share their views to begin with.

No effect. It didn't get out the people it wanted (18-24 y/o) to vote and the silent majority didn't need anyone to tell them to vote.

Speaking of this has Michael Moore sent out a post-election letter? I would love to hear his taken on the young people not making it out.

Maybe he could make a documentary on why young people don't vote. That would be very interesting.

Didn't young people came out to vote in big numbers.. but all the regular demographics came out in larger numbers too, so their percentages didn't increase?

They came out, but so did everyone else. Thus taking away the impact.

Made me see some of them differently.

Made me not want to watch MTV even more....

Kind of made me want to go out and vote for bush more.

Yep, it was the biggest turn out for the younger generation. but so many others came out to vote.

IIRC the % of young voters this year was the same as in 2000, different # of voters but same % of the total of whom voted (all ages)
