CD-Rom Player Question

    First let me say that my CD-Rom is OLD. I think it is an 8x or maybe even a 6x. Anyway, when I play CD's(now that I have Win 2000 installed) it clicks. I mean there are clicks in the music background. I've used it with Windows Media Player and MusicMatch Jukebox.

    Would getting a faster CD-Rom fix this? I need a cheap solution because I can't upgrade the whole damn computer as I'd like to.

    Did the clicking just kindof randomly start? You didn't install a new OS or soundcard or software or anything?

    I think it's always happened since I've been running Windows 2000. BTW, I'm running it on a 233MMX with 128 MB Ram.
