I just recently bought a '99 Ford Ranger from a family friend and don't really have the money to buy an aftermarket CD player at the moment. I'd actually like to wait until Sirius Satellite Radio releases a CD/Sirius Tuner unit on the market.

Anyway, my question is if there are certain CD-R's or CD-RW's that will play in a Ford factory CD player? I have some burned CD's from a few years back that will not play but am curious if there are different types of recordable CD's that I can have success with.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

I use Memorex CDR's and they play fine in my 2003 Altima (factory stereo.) I also have a 97 S10 that has an aftermarket Alpine cd player, circa 1997. It usually takes anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes for burned cd's to start playing on there, but eventually they will get going.
