Said that Orlando came to them and they were not looking to move Steve or Cuttino. He said they had ignored inquiries for 5 years until T-Mac's name came up.

He said Weisbrod was a man of his word.

Very interesting that Orlando came to HOUSTON with the deal and not the other way around. Once again, CD isnt PROACTIVE on the phones! :p

Interesting stuff on the reason behind the moratorium. Said that they have to figure out the salary cap for 2004 and that takes time. They don't even know EXACTLY what the MLE is worth until mid-July so they need that time to figure out the money involved.

Also, praise for Les and just amazed by fan response at the press conference. Said he was worried only 100 people were going to show up. :)

I can believe the rookie GM is a good guy. He just completely made an ass of himself in the media. Weisensitzer, I got two words for you: "No comment."

It is being rumored to be around 5.4 million. The million dollar exception is rumored to be around 1.6 million.

I wonder if CD had a hard time getting JVG to agree with the trade...hmmmm

CD talking about previous trades and said he gets real attached to the players. He cried when the Rox traded Moses Malone back in the day.

They were very happy with Francis and never even thought of a trade, until John Wiesassbrod approached CD along time ago.

Alexander just wants to win at all cost.

CD did not have to call anyone today they all were calling him. When they won with Hakeem they surrounded him with shooters. Everyone they get will have to pay defense and they must be able to shoot.

On the Lakers coaching job. College coaches always struggle with moving to the NBA. If anyone could make the jump Mike could.

LOL, CD doesnt call anyone, they all call him. Certainly now that Tmac is on the team with Yao. I guess that is a good sign. FAs want to play here. If we can get them at slightly below market value because of it...all the better!

neither fisher or snow are great shooters, yet are solid defenders. Barry is a lights out shooter but isn't known for his defense.

My gut tells me when push comes to shove and the contract value is the same, JVG will go with the good defensive player over the good shooter.

It was best for him and us. That Sixers team was one of the greatest ever.

The best offensive rebounder in NBA history.
