You see, I think it depends on the context. I usually use "CD," when referring to a purchase - past or present. For instance, I may ask something like, "Manny, have you picked up the Wilco CD yet?" But, if I'm doing a comparison, I'll usually use "albums." For instance, I may say something like, "Reckless by <b>Bryan</b> Adams is twice as good of an album as anything that sad b*stard <b>Ryan</b> Adams has ever released." You see, it's a very fine line. And I don't think I've ever called it a disc, but I know a lot of people who still use "records."
Bruce Springsteen on Letterman was making a big deal out of this last night. I like Springsteen's music, but that guy was acting like the biggest arrogant prima-donna ever last night. It made me lose respect for him.
That is pretty much my view as well (well, except for the Bryan Adams/Ryan Adams rivalry - hadn't really listened to anything by Ryan to make that statement).
I only buy music on vinyl so folks like me still use the words Album, record or LP. However, I usually hear an artist's full release called an album regardless of what format its in. Nice pics Pole, but what are those things?
