Shaq's lazy ass has been on the bench for half of the season, and got their butt kicked by the Rockets on national TV, who else deserve this more than Yao?
right. ordinarily I'd agree that Shaq is the better player, but he's played so little that I honestly do feel Yao deserves to be the starting center. He hasn't missed a game this year.
hilarious post... Yao has been inconsistent as hell this season, but at least he steps out on the court for the fans and his teammates every time out. Shaq is just saving himself for the playoffs and is using some phantom injury as an excuse. PJ even said as much before recanting after Shaq or his agent complained. I'd be interested to see how the domestic votes turned out. Yao won among US voters last year, as most seem to forget.

Shaq is Shaq and should be there. Of course, Shaq believes he is Shaq and therefore entitled to all Shaq wants.

I think Shaq isn't that much better than Yao actually. He can't even shoot from outside...can't shoot from free throw line and all he does is outweight people and pushing them around to score. But against Yao, Yao can shut him down...PERIOD!!! Yao should deserve as much as Shaq in my opinion. Remember Yao is still learning the game and is getting better. Just look at the recent games and see that he's ready to take to another level. If Yao is not playing well...don't just blame it on him...it's his teammates too ...not passing him the ball, ect...u got to look at both sides and evalute wheather he has play up his potential ..obviously he has not, but the recent games show he's ready to take up onto another level and deserve to be in the All Star.
Franchise, Dream, and Barkley have been elected by just playing few games before. But if the fans want, then they shall recieve. All Shaq can do is become MVP to make it up...if he really wanted to.
According to NBA.com: The 2004 NBA All-Star Balloting program continues through Jan. 18, 2004, and updated results for the Eastern and Western Conferences will be issued regularly leading up to the unveiling of the All-Star starters on Thursday, Jan. 29. So unless we have proof, we have no clue. Plus, I'm not going to trust no damn Laker fan until I hear it from ESPN or NBA.com.
That's odd. Just the other day i heard Shaq lead Yao by 20,000 votes. But it sure would be nice to see Stevie and Yao starting over Shaq and Kobe in LA........lol
The voting have been long finished. The official anoucement will bome at end of January. But the results are known. It could be leaked to media already...
If this is true, then i love it. If the lazy Laker fans got off their butts to vote for Shaq (actually, you don't even have to stand up), he would have won. The Faker fans and Shaq have a strong sense of entitlement. The majority of the fans are obviously tired of Shaq and his schtick.
Yao would not get voted ahead of Shark if he didn't play well during the last several games. There is no way he was behind Shark in the first poll release if the chinese people just voted for him.
