I've always wanted to do this. the famous Rockets Fan site www.clutchcity.net has just reported on the front page than Rice is a Rocket, and compensation news will be coming hopefully at noon.
hehe, is Clutch trying to keep us honest by posting to the front page first. You've got to have two browsers open to check both the BBS and the Front Page for breaking Clutch news!! btw: Anyone notice that Rocketeer's image is showing Rice wearing #4 now. When did that happened?
You're right; we should probably wait for the NYPost or more redundant (and ALWAYS late) ESPN posts to confirm it.
What I want to know is will Clutch acknowledge me on the front page for this "scoop?" Or will that cause some sort of Cold Fusion infinite loop and crash the site.
yeah, cc.net, if you think their site is unreliable you should see how STUPID their posters are...i mean really...
Clutch broke the news on the front page. The deal is done. www.clutchcity.net/rockets.cfm He updated it like around 11:50am. What is still unknown is the exact compensation. btw: I think it is really cool that Clutch broke the news on the Front Page rather than the bbs. imo, we all need to pay more attention to the front page, rather than ESPN and NYPost. We all know Clutch has as good sources as anyone, yet don't seem to give the front page the credit equal to other sites.
Man, I think the front page is way lame. All I ever see is that "Let's Talk Rocks" stuff, NBA Dish, Woo-hoo Comets, Downtown arena, and that thing about Tracy Murray. To hell with the front page, there is no news anywhere near it. CBFC
cbfc, if you're not joking... let me just point out that you're looking at the forum SUMMARY page. The 'front' page can be found at www.clutchcity.net/rockets.cfm If you were kidding, hardee har har.
With all due respect to Clutch, when will the national media learn never to doubt Berman? The KRIV report from last night was/is right on the money...
edc, when is the BBS going to stop doubting Clutch's ability to scoop the media? His humbleness should not be mistaken for being out of the loop on leaks. sorry....i'm going to have to repeat myself here from RocketScientist's thread. Clutch knew about the trade 48 hours before it was announced last week and 24 hours before it was first "leaked" by FOX tv. I know this for a fact, because he is nice enough to warn me about server stampedes without telling me the leak, so I can be on hand when news breaks....not IF, but WHEN!!! This whole last week was continuously scooped by Clutch. Unfortunately, his sources would not allow him to leak the original news last Wednesday, and he not needing to advance his career with this (he's just a fan like us) decided to hold back, which he told us later. Fact is: Clutch had this whole thing scooped, including today. And we aren't giving him credit he deserves. Much worse, we are admitting to "assuming" that Clutch COULD NOT scoop news like this. sad sorry guys....I just really feel for Clutch on this one. He was held back by journalistic ethics and concern for not blowing the deal for the Rockets.
Cripees -- I don't notice too much disprespect for Clutch's scoops here -- I just think we take his scoops totally for granted, the same way we take his site for granted and his BBS for granted. Its like the official barometer on whether or not something is truth or trash, but why shouyld he get any props for that? Its like the guy who sweats and works to provide a swimming pool for the neighborhood, and we just grab whatever is in the fridge, break the slide and go home when we are tired or when Brakus, ZRB or pippendagimpdagimp pee in the pool. For the record Clutch is NEVER wrong -- his shooting percentage is 100% on scoops -- and he always beats Berman, ESPN et al. But so what if he is totally connected, accurate (and copy-edited) and timely on his web page. What's new? Clutch scoops the world? Yawn. CBFC
I slightly disagree. I agree that we have no disrespect for scoops of "rumors." But when it comes to "official word" about execution of a trade, www.clutchcity.net/rockets.cfm is not considered a contender for an official link versus ESPN...*sigh*. Like you say: Clutch is never wrong when the front page goes to print.
