http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/10383811 #9 tmac #11 yao both are kinda low, but that's b/c of their playoff failures. if they win, both will be top 6-7 next yr together.
IMO i think Yao is about right however Tmac is high considering his health problems. Next year id love to see Yao in the top 6 or 7. Gilbert at 20 This guys on crack
wtf? that is the absolute lowest you can rank either of them. nobody after 11 has an argument to be higher. personally i think yao's better than amare and t-mac/garnett/dirk should be before kidd.
These kind of lists are always so difficult to create and break down. One guy's criteria is always different from another's. For instance, a marginal NBA player that benefits from a weak position such as Tyson Chandler will get ranked ahead of FAR superior players like Ben Gordon, Josh Smith, Brandon Roy, Elton Brand and others. His infatuation with Jason Kidd is also disturbing since he's trying to put him up there with Nash which is way off, IMO. Kidd has long benefitted from playing in the East for years now and the best record he has to show for it is 52 wins back in 01-02. 52 wins? Nash would get run out of town in Phoenix if they finished with 52 wins this year let alone the .500 record Kidd's Nets finished with last year. It's all very subjective. I'm sure somebody will disagree with these brief thoughts I just threw out there thus proving my point. P.S. It's always nice to see love for Yao and T-Mac....and Battier too in the "also considered" category. Battier is mentioned in the same breath as some pretty good players there.
I'm usually a big fan of your posts but you can't be serious about putting Deng and Josh Howard ahead of Yao. This isn't me speaking as a Rockets fan either. Melo and Arenas are understandable from a fantasy/projection standpoint. Deng and Howard, though? Neither has ever averaged 20 PPG for a season let alone double figures in another category. I have no doubt Deng will continue to improve but not at the level Yao is at, IMO. As for Howard, I think he's about peaked.
Arenas, Melo- maybe, possibly but WTF in great big scottish balls! Josh Howard?!? DENG?!? DENG?!? Who the hell is DENG?! Hmm, lets see....7-6 vs 6-8 Josh Howard......lets see...... Josh Howard: B*tch you cant do nothin'. What are you gonna do? Youre only slightly taller than me. ......REJECTED! Yao: You cant f**kin stop me!
1. T. Duncan 6 2. K. Bryant 1 3. L. James 3 SAME 4. D. Wade 2 5. S. Nash 7 6. J. Kidd 15 7. D. Nowitzki 4 8. K. Garnett 5 9. T. McGrady 10 10. A. Stoudemire 17 11. Y. Ming 18 12. C. Bosh 25 13. D. Howard 16 14. C. Anthony 20 15. P. Pierce 13 16. C. Boozer -- 17. T. Parker 32 18. J. O'Neal 26 19. B. Davis 34 20. G. Arenas 23 D Howard > Yao Anthony > Tmac Cuz I would trade Yao for Howard and same for Tmac. Boozer > C Bosh.
Right now Yao is much better than Dwight Howard. And Tracy Mcgrady is a much better all-around player, and a much better teammate. And Chris Bosh is a better athlete, better score, better rebounder, better defender, and taller than Boozer.
try watching something other than sportscenter. you'd trade the most dominant low post player in the game for someone whose best offensive move is a dunk? a completely rebuilding team such as seattle or portland may be wise to take a howard over yao but no way in hell is he a better player projecting into next season. not even close. i'd personally rather have t-mac then carmelo(assuming both are healthy) because he's far more versatile, better court vision, better defender. i won't argue if someone would take carmelo first, i just don't see it.
