Why the F not. Trade all of our non expirings for him and if he leaves then you have max cap room.

Told you so. If Dwight gets traded I think this is happening for us. Question is will ORL "roll the dice" like Dwight wants or will they trade him?

Sometimes when you're too aggresive on what you want the people who hold the cards take advantage. Orlando will clean out our roster and Dwight will have no reason to re-sign with a depleted roster.

If they don't trade Dwight and he walks, they are hamstrung for the next decade. They have to trade him Thursday if he doesn't commit to not opt out.

It's gonna play out like this. They're gonna call in him and his agent. They're already going to have the deal they want on the table ready to execute. They're gonna tell him he has to opt in for one more season or they're trading him. He'll have a set time to respond. If he doesn't commit to one more season, they're shipping him out, most likely to Houston.

There are limits to what they can even take back in a deal. It's not going to be an 8 for 1the deal or anything silly like that. A team with Dragic, Lee, Parsons, and Dwight is very good.

Otis Smith will owe Morey a huge favor for playing along here.

This is phony. There is no way this actually happens. This is to put pressure on New Jersey to give the Magic a deal worthy of Dwight. Dwight is trying to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to play out the year in Orlando and then sign in New Jersey without them gutting their team for him. He is trying to piss on the face of the Magic franchise. They need Houston to jump in and put pressure on New Jersey to make a deal.

They are in a sinking ship right now, they think they hold the upper hand, but reality is Howard walks at the end of this season or next. Orlando takes what we have or lose everything for nought.
    imo

Yes the roster needs to be cleaned out but this guy is dead set on New Jersey like 'Melo was on NY and I dont think any amount of convincing keeps him here. I don't know. I can see both sides of the argument.

Morey won't do the deal unless he can sign another max contract FA this offseason. IF he's gonna rent Dwight, he's gonna make it a competition between Houston, Dallas, and NJ for the Dwight/DWill combo. Dallas will have to clean house to make room for the combo. NJ doesn't have much else around DWill and Dwight if they sign him outright. Morey is going to put us in a legit position that Dwight and DWill have to consider re-upping and signing here as opposed to NJ and Dallas.
