http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/...m-has-hope-and-some-of-its-even-justified/rss We have discussed it to death, but it's always nice to see a view from the outside
Heh, they based their New York and Chicago predictions on getting LeBron James and Dwyane Wade respectively. That's a lot of assumption. We should all root for the Knicks to completely strike out in free agency.
Absolutely.... then the picks they traded us will be that much better. I have a hunch they will end up overpaying or not getting anyone.
I think we will add a solid PF in the offseason, and I think it will be a veteran. If Yao comes back, with that player added as well, I think we can get about 52 to 55 wins next year.
If (and i'm long past sick of saying this), but if Yao is healthy there is no way the rockets aren't substantially better, maybe not title worthy, but certainly better.
Me too. Dwade has birdy rights in Miami, I think they can bring anyone there to go help him out(Amar'e). Lebron James has a championship level team, I think he signs a 3 year deal. I think Bosh will come here personally, if Morey wants him he will get him Joe Johnson may go, but the Hawks have a good shot at resigning him. He wants Mike Woodson to return. It's also a good chance ATL thinks it's time to rebuild around Horford and Smith after a first round exit. Gay is a restricted Free Agent. Memphis is not just going to let him walk lol. That's silly, he'll be traded around the deadline if they don't want him...but Memphis does do a lot of dumb things. Lee will probably be overpaid and go the Sacremento or something. Boozer will realize he's probably not that good and his best bet to stay with Dwill. That's my prediction on how the Knicks summer will go, then they will sell to their fans "Hey...Carmelo Anthony folks!"
I'm really pulling for Camby. Between Scola and Hill, I think we're well covered at the 4. Having Camby as the first sub off the bench and splitting time with Yao would do worlds for us. Defensively, we wouldn't lose anything, and he'd even be a step up from Yao on the boards. If we could get Camby on a one year contract, I wouldn't even mind overpaying. With Yao's contract expiring, I think it'd be justified to make one more push with the big guy. Provided he can get/stay healthy.
I think, even without Yao, this team makes the playoffs next year. They came close this year in a tough conference, and they will have Martin for the whole year. Hill and Budinger will continue to improve and will be a big help. Ariza's game will improve with Martin here. AB, Scola, Lowry, Hayes, Battier will be solid. This team as it is will make the playoffs, with Yao the will make the Finals
I'm going to take a very early guess and say Houston finishes 3rd in the west next season. Yao averages 18ppg/8.5rpg. Then in the second round of the playoffs Yao and Martin collide and both go down the rest of the season. .....Kidding on the last part. Hopefully.
Yao may. He will be passing to Aaron, Kevin, Luis and Trevor all 4 of those guys can put it in the hole. You can quote me on this we are going to be top 3 in scoring in the league next year as a team. Every person in next years projected starting line-up can score one on one. Who are you going to double off of to guard Yao?
This. Plus, Camby has said he wants to retire in Houston. Dude can still put up 17 rebounds and 3 blocks on occasion.
My dream offseason is getting Bosh without giving up too much and then getting Camby for the MLE as our other center to share the load with Yao and be another PF sometimes along with him.
Don't know about that, but in this high paced offense he will definitely get a minimum of 4 turnovers a game.
I dont know about yall but I think our biggest improvment next year will be our defense. With Yao clogging the middle we will once again be a top 5 defense. Yao is a very underated defensive player. Not that good at one on one defense, but great at making the team defense that much better. Cant wait fot October!!!
