Long title. but.. with this new onetime deal a few players will be released. some names thrown around, Allen Houston, Michael Finley, Brian Grant, Raef Lafrentz, Derek Anderson, Theo Ratliff amoung others.

Anyone we would be interested in? i'd take Brian Grant for a year or two. same with Ratliff or Lafrentz. If we trade the glut of guards we could use Anderson. Doubtful we will have the cap room to sign them, but they will still be getting paid from their old teams so their contract demands may not be that high.

any opinons on this new wrinkle this offseason?

Keep in mind teams have until October 1st to make their cuts. So teams looking at those players could be waiting a while.

i agree, and i think teams making the cuts are going to keep the names close to the vest until the last minute hoping the top teams dry up their accounts so that they dont go to a championship contending team.

I like the idea of getting Jalen Rose. He could really give us a poison combo on the wings with TMac. With Marshall/Howard and Yao, it's enough that we have good shots everywhere - no doubles, ever.
