I think they should be good. They just picked up JR Bremer and Bruno Sundov from Boston. They have K. Ollie, and LBJ + Z, Boozer, Davis, Miles, Wagner, and a good coach in Silas. Playoffs?

    Nooooooooo way.

How do you possibly think there can be such a turnaround???

All they added was a coach and a unproven good player. Sure, barring injury, he will be better than Jordan.

But not now. Not this year. Not next year. Maybe in a few.

That team has a liability waiting to (re-)happen at center and a non-existent point guard.

A veteran is nowhere to be found.

    Nets
    76ers
    Pistons
    Magic
    Celtics
    Pacers
    Hornets
    Wizards
    Cavs
    (in no particular order)

Yes. They can make it. To me....the East looks very competetive within. Of course they can't compete against the West.

There are the Knicks and Hawks who also want to make the playoffs. There's the Bulls too.

What other teams are in the East?

The Cavs have added a lot of good players...a lot of young guys...who are talented. Someone is gonna be traded. Not Lebron, Big Z, or Boozer....

Well, I do think you can count out Atlanta, New York, Miami, Chicago, and almost definitley DC.

I do think Cleveland has made themost improvement on any team out there, but I still think they need to play together to win. Toronto will finish ahead of Cleveland.

And I wouldn't count the Raptors out until the break.

depends if they can play a lick of defense or not

based on what i saw last year, there defense was close to worst in league, if Silas can change the attitude torwards defense then maybe playoffs are possible, but realisitically 30 wins would be a great start.

don't forget opposition teams are going to fire up when they play the Cavs for the chance to biaytch slap Lebron, there is no chance they are going to slip under people radars.

I believe that they will be this years washington wizards, just a lot of mutch needed hype for an ailing franchise. i can see that they have a very good chance at bringing in better players in the future and being one of the better teams in the east but they are still a good five years away from being a real threat to anyone.

Well at least this season people will actually go out and support them! They were last in attendance last season! Maybe they will be more motivated.....maybe not...maybe it's too much pressure for all these young guys.

The Heat could make it too....

I think the Cavs had one of the most pure talented teams in the league last year before LeBron. Davis, Wagner, Miles(even though he seems to be overrated), Ilgaskas (sp), and surprising rookie Boozer. Not bad.

Ther Cavs are talented, and could make a splash, but this is how I see the East shaking out:

    New Jersey
    Philadelphia
    Detroit
    Orlando
New York (assuming McDyess is healthy)
    Indiana
    Boston
    Washington

New Orleans could make the playoffs, especially if they're healthy, if they are I could easily see Boston mising the playoffs. No inside game and Antoine Walker not in shape equals big trouble.

I and people need to relax on calling Wagner "overrated". He only played one year of college ball, and missed preseason with a bladder infection, he was further behind then Yao was. He'll be a good one, I think he'll be another Steve Francis.
