Sorry this is more of a question.

Just been wondering for those who have been following the cavs, are they for real? starting 3-3 is not too bad. Losing to boston, toronto and chicago. Did shaq really improve them or is it like him in the suns, a couple of days of excitement and after that it is all downhill for the team.

I never thought he really improved the team. They really aren't that good of a team compared to Boston and Orlando. Lebron can only take them so far. Right now, they are what the rockets were a few years ago...WIN NOW mode. I'm not saying they don't have a chance this year, but Lebron would have to play out of his mind.

The Cavs are a lottery team without Lebron.

I do not understand the question. The cavs were title contenders last year. they played in the finals 3 years ago. yes they are real. I think the 3-3 is just a rough start.

It is not like a team that has been sucking for years and finaly they get a new player and start the season 5-0 that is when you ask if they are real. Not when you know a team has been good the last couple of years and they had a rough start.

Who cares what the cavs are without lebron, with him they are contenders.

I'm not to fond of them getting shaq i do not know if it will help them. But maybe he can slow down Howard. If that happens they can get to the finals again.

LeBron would be beautiful to watch in a full court fastbreak offense instead he's been stuck in a half court offense for his career.

Wonder what when wrong with them. On paper it looks so nice.

3p shooting guards, Williams, West and Gibson.
Atlethic Wings that actually plays defense, Moon and parker
Big men in the middle, Big Z, Shaq and Verajao.

It was not a good idea to bring Shaq to the Cavs, he is one of the best but his days are over. So for me, it wasn't a good pickup. They are gonna struggle to defend, especially on pick and rolls because teams will set those pick all night long, and we know Shaq doesn't defend it.

And as much I hate Barkley he is right about the Cavs. LeBron cannot handle the ball al the time, he is too good. They shuould let him finish in the oper court instead of dribbling it on every possesion.

The idea to play Varejao and Shaq is bad as well. They need somebody like Scola, who can him that open shot when Shaq rolls to the basket. Varejao can't do that and that's why they may struggle offensivly as well.

I really don't know how they managed that great record last year. I do not know why people thing that are a title contender. Because for me, they are not.

Shaq doesn't look good out there and he doesn't fit what they need. He really hurts the Cavs on defense, which is their calling card. If Mo Williams doesn't revert back to his regular season form of last year, the Cavs are not a contender. If Delonte West doesn't get his head together and return to being the "glue guy" for their team, the Cavs won't contend. Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon are not impact additions.

It's too early to write LeBron & Co. off, but Cavs fans should be worried.

Shaq doesn't fit any team anymore. When are people going to realize this? He RUINED the suns and now he's in the process of doing the same to the Cavs. Shaq is old, slow and a huge liability on defense. Shaq was a force in this league when he could put up 30/15 and get up and down the court, jump, and play defense. He can't do ANY of that anymore. He's basically just a big body out there who is in the way. Combine what with the fact that the Cavs aren't a good free throw shooting team to begin with and you just have an absolute disaster.

They need to cut Shaq and save their season. The Lakers were genius when they got rid of this guy. He was still "decent" in miami, but on the decline and Wade carried him to a championship, but that was it for him, Shaq is done and has been done for a few years now.

I think the biggest surprise of the season is how quickly the media gave up on the cavs. Some power rankings have them dropping 15ish places. It is absolutely ridiculous. They are a better team than last year and still a premiere team of the NBA. Just because "coach of the year" hasn't figured it out yet (and I doubt he will because he's borderline terrible), doesn't mean you can write off a team that was a lock to win the title last year because of 3 losses.

 the media can not be trusted with any coverage of lebron. add in another hype machine like shaq and you get disasters like this.

I don't know about that. Their biggest obstacle to the finals is not Howard but the Celtics. I don't see how Shaq is useful against Boston.

Having a big center is nice. But they don't need him as much as they need more people who can shoot.

the cavs added shaq to help em get past the Magic and Celtics. Not to become the regular season champs. Wait till the playoffs and we'll see just how much Lebron can take over. And shaq should help when it comes time to guarding KG or Dwight. But I think with or without shaq the Celtics are gonna be the team coming out of the east and should win the championship.

lebron needs the ball in his hands esp in the half court. he doesnt have the perimeter or post game to allow him to be that effective without the ball in his hands at the top of the key to drive or kick it to the open shooter.

Lebron needs a point guard like Nash or Kidd that initiate the offense instead of Lebron being the point forward.

Better than last year? Only if both Mo Williams and Delonte West return to form AND Shaq finds a way to fit in. Then and only then will they be better than last year. If you ask me, it's more likely none of those things happen than all 3.

You see the problem with the cavs IMO is no the center position. The problem they had was their perimeter. Last year when they lost to orlando, their biggest problem was hedo and rashard. They had no one to match up with them. LBJ could do a good job on them, but that would mean he would be damn tired for offense. Off course howard was still a beast, but i reckon he was not the reason orlando won. Big Z did a good job on howards last year. I don't think Shaq can can do any better on howard in a 7 game series. He would just get tired real quick. Shaq offensive game takes too much engergy compared to Big Z poping and shooting.

Off course, still early in the season. I am just wondering how that team is flowing right now. Is their offense better or worse. Their defense?
